I didn't think DB had as good a selection as other art stores I have been to. I felt frustrated by the lack of choices in special types of papers or matte board. I didn't think their prices were spectacular. Some were good but most were a bit higher than what I've seen. The atmosphere of the store is a bit dark and gloomy. I like going into an art supply store and having a bit of fun perusing all the neat new products out there and quirky art items that I have no idea what they're used for. I don't have that experience at DB. more

Artist supplies 7/29/2005

Dick Blick's is a fairly large art supply store that sells just about everything. They cover tech pens to drafting tables and everything in-between. The prices are average, not expensive as independent art stores. The only thing that bothered me, was that they only sold basic commercial products. Some of the harder to find things I was looking for, they didn't have. These harder to find items are more likely sold at an independently owned art store. more
