We arrived around 3 in the afternoon. It's a small, dingy place that hasn't changed in 40 years, nor has it been thoroughly cleaned. We were pushed into the crowd that huddled around the counter. Couldn't tell who had ordered and who hadn't; neither could the owner or his son. Son took our order after we'd stood there for 10 minutes. Watched burned pizzas come out of the oven. Tried to find a couple of chairs at the handful of greasy tables. Waited. Waited. Waited. A few people who came in after us got their food. Waited some more. Watched the owner look into the empty pizza ovens, then start making another order. Told the son what we had ordered 30+ minutes before. He didn't seem to care. Saw the owner looking at a long list of orders. People continued to cram into the place. After an hour, we walked out. It may be the best pizza in NYC, but I'll never find out. I'd rather get 2nd best pizza somewhere else than stand in a dirty, cramped restaurant with poor service and a painfully long wait.
Cons: long wait, inconvenient location, small size, dirty
