great place largest and cheapest in area. I got an apartment here a few years ago and I love it. It is so convient to everything around town. Its really only about a minute away from I-65. And its even closer to 31. Its staff is awesome smart older people in their 40's or 50's and 60's so you don't have to worry about some sketchy dude fixing your things. Service calls come so fast. This place is great. The owner is onsite and this is not a chain like most other apartment communities. They always greet you with a smile and are always willing to help if you have a problem. The neighbors are great, and I have never felt safer. Also, you cannot hear your neighbors. I hate to leave this place, but the price just doesn't match my college budget. But, it is definitely worth it if you can afford it! more

would not recommend 4/26/2012

i lived in dewberry downs townhomes for a year and was counting down to the day i would move out. the managment is lazy and none of the repairs get done. the townhomes are very old and with alot of mold under the carpets and in many other places. the maintainance crew is the laziest ever. owner keeps the carpet for so long without changing regardless if previous owners had pets or not. the townhomes are tiny . will tell everyone that will listen please dont move in there. keep looking more

Birmingham's Best Kept Secret 10/12/2011

18 months ago, I was referred to Dewberry Downs by a co-worker. Living there has been an absolute pleasure. It is spacious, affordable, and centrally located to Hoover and Birmingham. While I was skeptical about living in a split-level town home, it was the best decision I've made. The community is beautiful, and the staff have been nothing but helpful. Since moving in, I have had issues with my air conditioning and my upstairs bathtub leaking. Both were resolved quickly and professionally. While the apartments aren't brand new, they are well-maintained by management who has an investment in the community. I can't recommend them highly enough. A+++! more

Great Place to live 9/8/2011

Wonderful resident manager! Clean and quite. Very safe place to live. Close to shopping, grocery stores and hospitals. School is only 8 tenths of a mile from the apartments (K-5). Neighbors are friendly! more

Good Folks, Safe Place 3/21/2011

I like dealing with these folks. My wife and kids are very happy here. They feel safe and secure. I think you should give them a call. more

Nice! 1/25/2010

Me and my family enjoyed living here. Plenty of space for our small family. Never had any noise issues. Only issue we had wasn't really a complex issue. Parking for us was terrible. Many nights of hauling our children across the lot. That was due in part of greedy neighbors who would take up 3 or sometimes more spots. It was so bad at times I refused to leave the house in my vehicle. Because when I would arrive home (no matter what time) I would have to park a distance away. Other than that for us it was great and very safe. We have lived in many apts and this was the favorite judging by cleanliness and safety. more

Safe, quiet, spacious, and reasonable! 2/10/2009

Dewberry Downs is a safe, quiet town home community with easy access to 31 and 65. I like that the bedrooms are on the top level and the decks are HUGE, and to my knowledge the only ones you can legally have a grill on in Hoover. The firewalls go all the way to the roof in between the units which offers more safety and noise reduction ( I have rarely heard anything from my neighbor's apartments even when I had a neighbor with multiple children next to me). The staff is friendly and helpful including resident management and an on site owner. There has been a lot of upgrading and remodeling since I moved in and it's very clear that while the units are old, they are in great shape! Dewberry Downs is perfect for anyone looking for a quiet neighborhood with reasonable prices and in a great location that is convenient to all of greater Birmingham. Pros: Great location, Staff, and value. Cons: Some dated bathroom countertops and closets are average in space (this is offset by access to atic storage) more

great place largest and cheapest in area 3/11/2006

Wow I got an apartment here a few years ago and I love it. Not only is all that great but there is a daycare center connceted to dewberry downs and there is a great pool and tennis court. the daycare center is a little weird but its not a dewberry property so what can you expect. These apartments are built to condiminum standards which means higher quality everything. you gotta come check it out. Pros: quiet, safe, convient Cons: theres not any, this place, rules more

quiet, but old 2/20/2006

This community was the only option I considered when I had to relocate myself. It is quiet and safe. However, the townhomes are very worn and need updating. I also found myself frequently frustrated with service calls unanswered or ignored. Pros: quiet, safe Cons: needs updating more
