Worst

Have been living in Brighton for about 5 years and have always loved Devlins. The patio is great as are the mixed drinks! I hate to see this happen but the food has gone way down...

Great Patio - Food has gone down hill 3/17/2011

Have been living in Brighton for about 5 years and have always loved Devlins. The patio is great as are the mixed drinks! I hate to see this happen but the food has gone way down hill over the last year or so. The past few times I have gone for lunch or dinner what came out of the kitchen seemed bland and not worth the high prices on the menu. This place used to rival downtown up-scale restaurants in terms of food, now it only seemingly has the atmosphere. I noticed that they proudly display their awards from 2006-2008; no new awards since then. Hoping things will turn back around at Devlins. more

Devlin’s is a wonderful place to go in the warmer months. The patio is lovely and secluded away from the main street. They even have an outdoor bar, which is very cute.\r \r Dinner is also great at Devlin’s. It offers a more upscale ambience and selection than the other restaurants in the area. The last time I went I got the salmon dish and it was delicious. At around $20, it wasn’t cheap, but not as expensive as you’d probably pay downtown. I would definitely go back and order it again. I highly recommend it if you are looking for something other than standard bar food, which is what several restaurants in Brighton Center offer. Pros: Patio, drinks, service, food more

Classy joint for all ages 3/8/2010

Devlin's is a great, classy joint next to the Green Briar and Porter Belly's. Compared to these two other bars, I would most likely bring my parents or someone I want to impress to Devlin's. The atmosphere is more classy, and the bartenders are all wicked nice (I asked for a maraschino cherry once, and the bartender gave me a whole martini glass full of cherries!). If you're looking for a rowdy brawl, hit up Green Briar; but for a nice bar, come to Devlin's. The only thing I hate about these bars is that they all close by 1am! Pros: Cocktails, price, ambience Cons: Closes early, sparse weekend attendance more

Good food, great place to go in Brighton center. Love the look of it, high ceilings, used to be a bank. Pros: food is good, atmosphere Cons: some entrees a little pricey for the neighborhood more

LOVE love Love the patio! 9/2/2008

Devlins is awesome. I had a great time on their patio this past Sunday night. The food was delicious, the atmosphere is beautiful, and our server was great..... she was really sweet, very efficient, not mention her knowledge of the menu. Thanks Devlins for a great dinning experience!!!!!! more

Excellent food and friendly service in a very comfortable atmosphere....Enjoyed 2 cocktails on their outdoor patio....Recommend arriving early for patio service as it is very busy and fills up quickly on nice nights. more

I?m a big fan, I go to here all the time. Great food ( I always try the special) Great Service, Good music on Friday and Saturdays. And the Patio is one of the chilliest places around the city. Two thumbs up! Pros: Great drinks, servise, patio Cons: None more

a good place for a large party 7/29/2008

We had a party at devlins it was my sisters 30th and i wanted it to go just right and the staff at devlins did just that, i was very nervous i never planned a party before i will do it again here the staff were very kind and always were very attentive the dj played great music more

highly recommended 7/28/2008

I came to devlins on Friday night it was very nice, i feel like i have to tell everyone about the patio that they have.( the waterfall, outside bar ) the atmosphere was very good with light music in the back round. We had the pork and mixed salad it was very good the service was excellent and friendly i will be back more

Once again, Devlin's has outdone themselves with their summer menu, patio and great, friendly staff. We had dinner on the patio recently and everything was terrific! Devlin's is a great place to go for brunch, lunch, dinner or just for cocktails on the patio!! Pros: everything! Cons: none!! more

I go to Devlin's nearly every weekend and find the atmosphere is always good. \r The service has always been excellent and the food is great. Is this really Brighton?? 6/25/2008

After discovering Devlin's last summer, I have not been able to stay away! It's a great place to chill out after a long day at work, bring friends, bring a date, etc. \r Their pizza is the best; crispy, thin crust, just the right amount of cheese and toppings. Yum! Also, the salmon is delicious! I have copied it at home several times since it appeared on the new-ish summer menu.\r The patio is fantastic, too. It's a nice little escape from the city. There is even a bar!!! It's great to be able to sit outside and have a drink or two at the bar and not have to order food.\r So, if you haven't already been there, I suggest you go check it out. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you find. Pros: Great patio away from the street. Great service, food and drinks. more

I dont know what to say. It seems spot on or a complete miss. Not going to knock them for one off night but when its good its good when its bad its really bad. Pros: Nice little patio in back. Cons: The service can be lacking. more

Brunch Heaven 6/18/2008

Oh my God! Whoever has been keeping this place a secret should be shot. Went for brunch here with my dad on Sunday morning and it was AMAZING. Got the most amazing Irish breakfast. My dad had some egg benny thing not sure of the name but it tasted like heaven. And we had the most delicious Bloody Marys ever. (They made morning drinking seem even bolder!!) The only pity was that the patio wasn't open due to the weather. But I intend to be back! Pros: ambience, service, food, beer, patio Cons: patio depends on weather more

Awesome food and drinks!! Trivia with a twist. 6/7/2008

I am a proffesional who lives in Boston and loves to eat out! I also love trivia but hate the usually sports bar trivia blah. I finally found a tuesday night place that I can bring friends and have some fun. I enjoy going to nice places with good food, friendly staff, and prices that don't hurt the wallet, but I hate throwing the my money away on cheap pub grub. Devlins is a breath of fresh air from the norm. I feel comfortable meeting friend or dates for dinner or drinks there and like to try different apps and dinners on the menu, the steak I had the other night was awesome and love this spicy chicken pasta dish, (I forget the name) but it rules! Best Patio in Boston 6/5/2008

I totally love this place. If you havent been you should really check it out. Great food, great ambiance, and the patio out back is something to experience. I think there may be more seating outside than in, and it looks like they are in the final stages of building a full bar out there. Sunday's are especially cool because they offer a incredible brunch, and they have a live jazz band out on the patio. You need to experience Devlin's for yourself. Best Pasta and Best Atmosphere 6/3/2008

I LOVE Devlin's! I eat there all the time (more since the patio opened) and absolutely love it!! The staff is super friendly, the food is super fresh and delicious, and the ambiance is SUPER ;) I come with a friend or a group and they are always very accomodating and efficient. \r \r Don't go to the beer Garden...they have a terrible beer selection, the food is nasty and they offer the WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Great service and food 5/15/2008

My friends and I had such a good time here. Our waitress was really friendly and attentive, and we all really enjoyed our meals. I ordered the short rib special which was fantastic! We had been there before to sit on the patio and will definitely be back. Devlin's is one of our favorities! more

Great Restaurant, Unfriendly Waitress 5/11/2008

I love this restaurant...the food, decor, and outdoor patio, but there is one waitress who has served me on numerous occasions and she's always miserable!!!!! She rarely smiles, doesn't like to be asked questions, and is pushy about buying drinks. My friends and I have always tipped her well anyway, we're never too demanding or annoying, so this unfriendly service is undeserved. I have never experienced such a cold, unfriendly server and find it very unprofessional. We love eating out here but when she's our waitress, her bad attitude spoils our night. All of the other waitresses we've had have been personable, however. more
