I just went here for the first time to get my haircut. It was awesome! They had coffee, snacks, and even offered to take my coat. My stylist was so much fun and she actually knew what she was doing. My hair is super curly and frizzy..no one has ever been able to cut it. And as I was checking out, they told me about their student discount, so I got 20% off my cut! Love this place :) more

Like other reviewers, I would echo the remarks about \r 1. decent overall cuts/color\r 2. BEYOND HORRIBLE customer service\r 3. WAY overpriced for what they offer\r \r I had a relatively good experience the 1st time I went -- which is to say they didn't mess up my really easy long hair and highlights. The second time I went, I paid over $200 for a cut and highlights and looked exactly the same as when I went in. Oh, and they made me blowdry my own hair after the color. (Um...why am I tipping you over 20%, again???)\r \r Two weeks later, I need a trim -- and the highlights may as well not be there. When I called to ask for a trim (apologizing like crazy to even ask) they curtly told me that they would charge me full price. \r \r UH - NO THANKS! \r \r GO ELSEWHERE!!!! (ANYWHERE ELSE! :) ) more

Great atmosphere, but extremely OVERPRICED! The ladies that work there are great, but the owner is terrible to work with! I had a problem, and was never shown a return/exchange policy and she says that I was too "assume" that there was no return/exchange. Meanwhile she has NO policy on the matter. How in the world do you run a business like that!? She threatened to remove me from the salon. She is nasty and was okay with me not returning any more business. I WOULD NOT recommend them at all, solely on my experience with the owner. more

Great atmosphere and one of the best and more professional spas in State College! They do all the things a spa should and the place is so relaxing. It actually surprised me being that its downtown and there a hair salon attached. The spa is quiet and you feel like you are in the country somewhere instead of downtown SC. My friends and I will definitely return to this place again. Thanks for the amazing experience. more

I was happy with my therapist, but it's not all that "Heather R." describes. I felt uncomfortable because everyone was kind of snooty. The "package" I bought was supposed to be a great value... but afterward, I think I really got ripped off. I think they charge a lot because they think they can get away with it. Anyway, the worst part was the owner: she's so unfriendly and doesn't care how your treatment goes. From what I understand, she's terrible to work for... she just pays well. When I tried to speak with her, she looked right through me, gave me a cold smile and walked away. Don't get me wrong, the girls that work for her are amazing... it's just not the greatest atmosphere in the world... and unfortunately, for the prices the owner charges, it wasn't worth it to me. more

This place is hands down the best spa in State College!! Yes, it's a little more expensive, but the atmosphere is perfect and the experience is amazing! I went here last year and loved it, but made the mistake of trying a different spa to save money. So, I went to the State College Spa/American Spa Academy instead and it was absolutely horrible! They do not deserve to call themselves a spa and that was the worst decision of my life. You want to talk about poor Customer Service....SC Spa is the winner in that category. I won't go in detail about them here bc this is review for Designers Den, and I already gave my bad review on their page. Designers Den puts you in a robe, has a beautiful waterfall in the waiting room with drinks and appetizers, the therapists are all very experienced and the atmosphere is just perfect! Trust me, spend the extra money and go here because you will have no regrets afterwards and will walk out of there feeling like a million dollars!! more

This spa had a nice atmosphere and the service was very good when I went there. Also, they donate regularly to local organizations, which is a really nice thing for the community. more

I loved the atmoshere at the spa and loved the person who completed the service. I was a little disappointed when I wrote to the owner because of an incident that occurred when I was there and never got a response. Becuase of this, I will never go back. Remember customer service! Very Expensive more
