Dermatology of Seattle

I’ve cried three times so far. After being referred to Dermatology of Seattle for hyperhidrosis, I met with Dr. Levy who told me that Botox injections could treat my hyperhidrosis. I started to cry. After living with hyperhidrosis since I was about twelve years old, the idea of being able to live without it was overwhelming. The next step was to ensure that my insurance would cover the Botox and procedure. Two weeks after submitting the paperwork to my insurance company I received a letter denying coverage. I cried for the second time. Dr. Levy told me about some other options, but their side effects were more than I could risk. Instead of giving up, Dr. Levy and his team kept working to contact Allergan, the product provider, to see if they would give me a sample dose for free. I had given up on any chance of this working out, probably so that I wouldn’t have to deal with the disappointment again, but about a week later, one of the assistants from Dermatology of Seattle called to tell me that they received the free product sample and I could be given the injections the following day due to a cancelation. I could hardly believe I would get the chance to experience life normally. After the phone call, I sat at work and cried for the third time. I kept wondering if this was really going to work. I received the treatment with the understanding that it would take a few days to a week to be effective. The procedure was simple, quick, and almost painless. The best part, the next day I didn’t sweat. I woke up, put on one shirt, and didn’t take it off until I went to bed. It was an amazing day for me. Now, three days after the procedure, I haven’t had any negative side effects, and I haven’t sweated at all. Less than a week has passed and my life has changed. I wear one set of clothes, I’m warm and comfortable, and I’m significantly more successful at work. Without the constant worry, embarrassment, and emotional and physical discomfort of hyperhidrosis I am better able to focus on my responsibilities and truly enjoy my days. I am writing this review for two reasons. First, I am writing to those who have helped me through this process. I want to thank the team at Dermatology of Seattle for changing my life; your professionalism, persistence, and care are what made this possible. I also want to thank Allergan for providing me with the product that I could not afford in order to allow me to experience life without this debilitating condition. Secondly, and most importantly, I am writing this review to convince anyone considering this treatment to take action. I will never live with hyperhidrosis again. I don’t think anyone should suffer from it. Please get this treatment for yourself, because it will change your life. more

I think I will write this review.\r \r I was 5 minutes late today for an appointment to Dermatology of Seattle with DOCTOR Levy. After reading all of the positive responses, I thought he actually cares.\r \r The first impression is usually the correct one, and here is what I got - THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS. I came in with all of my forms filled out, 5 minutes late, gave all of my forms for the receptionist (who was kept telling me I need to reschedule because I AM LATE, instead of trying to be understanding and polite), and after she spent 5 minutes inputting the info into computer, she told me I am 10 minutes late now.\r \r I saw Dr. Levy catching up on some paperwork in the distance, I asked them if I can just ask Dr. Levy if I can see him, they wouldn't let me talk to him.\r \r \r They said it's ""unfair to other patients who show up on time"" .\r \r I was the last patient of the day?? HUH?? Who will show up after me?\r \r Then I was informed that Dr. Levy is busy now because he has stuff to do, so I asked, well if I was on time, he wouldn't be busy with that paperwork now, right??\r \r \r I definitely do not recommend this clinic. 1)unpleasant staff (most of them) 2) doctor who doesn't care 3) they treat you like a number, not like a patient. more

I am pleased to recommend Dr. Levy for solutions to skin problems. I have been a patient for several years and he is unfailingly kind, thorough, prompt, professional and fixes whatever my problem is - skin tags - wart or mole removal - checking that something is or is not cancerous. Our community is fortunate to have him working here! more

I was referred to Dr. Rosewater at Dermatology of Seattle last Sept for a burn. I was the victim of an attack that left me with a swastika burned into my skin among multiple other injuries. Dr. Rosewater removed the branded area of skin surgically and made sure I had full function of my wrist (mobility and flexibility). Im not very good with words or writing, so forgive me, but what he did for me really changed my outlook on myself. I'm beyond thrilled with the outcome, I was happy just having the burn gone, but Dr. Rosewater saw thru and made sure everything went smoothly, and healed properly. He did a fantastic job, and I'm so happy with the results! \r Dr. Rosewater and the crew at Dermatology of Seattle have secured a special place in my heart for removing (and making it look great) something that was a constant reminder of that year and the people that put it there, and the constant fear that it would be accidently seen and offend someone. Dr. Rosewater removed something that had nothing to do with my views and attitude towards others. I have no fears now because its gone, its been eliminated, and the area looks great! I was referred to Dr. Levy by my Primary Care Dr. When I rang to make an appointment. I was given the name of another Dr. who could see me sooner within the practice, but I chose to wait until Dr. Levy had an appointment available, because he was the one my Dr. had told me to see. I am glad I waited to see him, he did not disappoint. He has a friendly, outgoing and caring personality. We are a military family with a difficult living situation. Dr Levy sympathised with our circumstances and told me that he and his staff supported our military personnel. He was thorough and professional, kind and caring and listened to my needs and concerns. All procedures were handled discretely and professionally and he put me right at ease. He chose to use the least invasive procedures ...and the results have been overwhelmingly positive. My confidence and self esteem have improved dramatically. Thank you Dr. Levy for your superior skills - the results of your work have changed my life. more

I went to see Dr. Levy for acne and laser hair removal. My teenage acne was getting worse and worse. He offered me a procedure called acne surgery. Overnight the right side of my face was super smooth. He also put me on a fantastic home care regimen with excellent products he has available at his office. My hormones have hair growing everywhere. I really hated my uni-brow. In under a minute, my first treatment to get rid of this annoying hair was done! I can hardly wait to go back to complete my treatment. It should only take 3 treatments. Dr. Levy’s office is new, beautiful, very comfortable and spacious. I highly recommend Dr. Levy. more

I've been a patient of Dermatology of Seattle for over six years and Dr. Levy has always taken the time to answer all of my facial questions, since I like to be as informed as possible especially when it comes to fighting the evils of acne. With each visit I always get an excellent level of service which I haven't really found elsewhere. If you like being greeted by surly receptionists, sitting in an uncomfortable waiting room with IKEA furniture, getting called back to the exam room late, being pushed out of the exam room by a doctor who acts like he is missing his T-time just for you, then do not go here! Dermatology of Seattle, Dr. Levy and his staff are courteous, prompt, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I have never been brought back to the exam room late and always feel like the Dr. and his staff are happy to see me. I wish all of my medical appointments went this well. Thank you Dr. Levy. I started going to Dermatology of Seattle in 2005. As a female with PCOS, I'm so thankful for this clinic because they deal with two big symptoms of that, acne & excessive hair growth. There is no cure for acne, but they have helped me manage it with a round of accutane, & then epiduo & spirinolactone. I also encourage anyone who has excessive hair growth to go to their aesthetician for a free consultation. I had the dark course hair on my face treated (with amazing results!!) and even had my underarms treated. Going to this clinic really has been life changing for me. more

Most medical/doctor experiences scare me, but there is something about Dermatology of Seattle that sets my mind at ease. I love this place, it is very welcoming and comfortable, with an upscale attitude but extremely friendly doctors. I have used both the services of Dr. Levy and the aesthetician(did I spell that right?) - All I can say is that I am super pleased with the results on both accounts and will absolutely bring my business here in the future. When I called to make an appointment, the front desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the services. I booked an appointment over the phone. I printed my forms out off the website, so they saw me much quicker when I came in. Dr. Elie Levy was wonderful and addressed all of my issues. He answered all of my questions and gave me the help I needed. The clinic is beautiful, upscale with marble tiling in the halls and a stunning aquarium in the living room area. I went to this clinic to get help for a chronic dermatologic issue that had been occurring for many years. Dr. Levy was friendly, had good bedside manner, and seemed knowledgeable. I was in contact with this clinic for over 2 months, trying to resolve this issue after trying different treatments. Several times when calling in, I would be interrupted on the phone, put on hold, and someone else would get on the phone, so I would have to start over. Probably about 5 times over 2 months, I left messages regarding the treatments not being successful. I would wait several days and never receive a call back, so I would have to call again. Meanwhile, the problem was worsening while I waited for a call and a discussion as to the next treatment option. The office staff seemed unorganized and unprofessional, especially when talking by phone. I would not return to this office due to the lack of follow through and disorganization on an office level. more

My exprience at Dermatology of Seattle, was wonderful, the Staff were very friendly, my wait was not long at all, the docotor was very knowledgeable of my condition and very Friendly. \r There is a sink located right next to the exam doors, the doctor washed his hands before entering the room. And after the examination sanitezed his hands. I did not see ugly stained carpet in the waiting room, there was very nice tile. I really enjoyed my visit, I will for sure return and sharing my joyest exprience with others. Pros: Has a surgery center right in the clinic more

Although it was slightly expensive (about $154) and I don't know if I'd recommend it to friends and family since it's sort of embarrassing, but I had a horrible, debilitating skin condition for over two years and doctors at this clinic were able to get rid of it for me in just eight days. I can't thank them enough. more

There aren't sinks in each of the exam rooms, so you don't see the doctor wash his hands before examining you. He came in and didn't use any hand sanitizer. Spent a total of 5 minutes looking at me and promptly wrote me prescriptions without explanation of what it was he was diagnosing me with. The waiting room was hot--no A/C possibly? The carpets in both waiting room and exam room (who has carpets in an exam room?) were all stained and nasty. Overall weird atmosphere, I felt like I was visiting a doctors office that was actually a front for something else. I'll never go there again. Cons: Dirty carpets, no sinks in exam rooms more

The second time I went they tried to get me to register as a new patient when I had just done so a couple weeks ago. Then they tried to charge me twice for a consult fee. The third time I was supposed to go, I received a voicemail less than 24 hours before my appointment and it said my appointment was canceled because they were no longer performing the procedure I had scheduled over one month ago. THEN an automated voicemail immediately followed confirming my appointment for tomorrow. I don't care if Dr. Levy works miracles, I won't go back and don't reccomend this office. more

Friendly and Caring. Wonderful staff. Easy to get needed appointment. Dr. Levy does not rush you, and takes time to listen to your concerns. His staff is professional and courteous. I would recommend to anyone. Pros: Right next to Highline more

I am writing a review on a few experiences that Iv'e had at this clinic. I was coming in for a minor surgical procedure,so was a little nervous. That went away quickly,because from the minute I walk in the door, I was made to feel at home. I was greeted by the freindly front office staff and then took my seat. The waiting area was stocked with goodies like coffee,teas,and hot cocoa. There's a laptop to play with,magazines to read,and a few movies to watch while you're waiting to be seen. Much better than your usual clinic fare. Which brings me to the wait times. I was impressed by how quickly I got in,I had barely opened up the book I had brought in! Dr. Levy and is medical assistants were very personable,and made me feel quite comfortable during my procedure. They were patient and addressed all of my concerns,and made sure I went home with everything I needed after the surgery. I soon after returned to the clinic for a cosmetic consult with the Aesthetician,Blair Adams. She was very professional and knowlegeable on the products and services I had interest in. I then came back for a small cosmetic treatment,which was quite relaxing.The staff went above and beyond what I would normally expect in a clinic,I will most definately be referring my family and freinds here.(I just referred my tax lady!) i have battled with Psoriasis my whole life. I have been to a number of physicians who prescribed me lotions, creams and ointments which are very messy and sticky. They got on my clothing and bedding. When I came to see Dr Levy he told me about UVB therapy to treat my psoriasis. it is a similar to a tanning bed that i stand in for a few minutes at his office. Well my skin is clearing i have never seen such great results from anything else i have done. If you have battled Psoriasis like i have you must try UVB. more
