The Best in Denver, 5280 Even Agrees! 10/19/2009

I have been a member of the Denver Athletic Club for well over 4 years now and I have never belonged to any fitness club for that long. In the past I have joined 24 hour fitness, Bally's, etc. and I was disappointed with the constant turnover in staff and management.\r \r When I joined the Denver Athletic Club I was looking for a club where I could workout, and get involved in the community. My entire family has gotten involved with the club and it's members and we could never think of turning in our membership. The Denver Athletic Club is more than just a fitness club. What other club in Denver has a Bowling Alley, Pool, Billiards Room, Poker Room, Yoga, Spin Class, Raquetball, Rock Climbing Wall, Personal Trainers and Business Development Group all under the same roof? I can only think of one club with such diversified events and activities. \r \r I would strongly recommend anyone, whether you live in Denver or not to check out this club as it offers way more than just workout facilities. Pros: awesome social events, great workout facility and staff Cons: Can't think of a thing wrong more

So Convenient 10/7/2009

I really enjoy the convenience of the location of the DAC, it can't be beat! To get 90 min of free parking downtown is also great. If you don't like a crowded gym you'll be happy here! Pros: LOCATION, gym is never busy, nice equipment, parking Cons: The don't have full Cable more

No Better Place to Network 10/7/2009

In the 15 years I have worked in Denver I have not found a better place to network with business professionals! The DAC is a great club and they really pride themselves on their history. I love all of the classes they offer as well as the business group meetings that are all included in your membership Pros: clean, great staff, great accomodations Cons: pool is not open 24-7 more

Great Staff, Great Equipment and Great for Families 5/7/2009

We love the DAC and everything it has to offer.  The Staff is knowledgable and friendly and the equipment, pool and group classes are fabulous.  We totally disagree with aspeneye and TallisBen.  We suspect from their reviews they are a bit on the snobby side and a bit ""ageist.""  One of the things we like most about the DAC is its diverse clientele of older, middle, and younger individuals and families.  If you are looking for a club  to hang out with the ""beautiful hard-bodies""  this is not for you.  If you are an ""average joe""  that values a comfortable, quality, work-out experience this is it. Pros: Facilities and Staff Cons: Cost and some of the decor more

Poor Desk Staff...Could they be any dumber 3/10/2008

I defy you to find a more incompetent staff for an athletic club. If you find one, please let me know. more

Most awesome Athletic Club you will come across, PERIOD! 2/7/2008

I am a triathlete and know that this is the place to be! Best pool in Denver, have my own lane most times (25 meters!), Computrainers (state of the art, computer guided bicycle trainer) allow me to train routes I download from my Garmin Edge! Fantastic weight room and cardio equipment that is state of the art, many with TV's/DVD's. Trainers with college degrees, not some weekend certification, best smoothies in town (with real fruit) fantastic locker rooms, and lots of options for fun activities from wine pairings, jazz bands on the roof, and dances throughout the year in fabulous rooms. Best meeting facilities and most of the place is fully renovated. I get 90 minutes of free parking, and best of all, I OWN THE PLACE! yep, the members own the Club, so I get to tell the management team what my preferences are (so OK, they don't do them all, but being able to say I own the place, sounds really cool, because it is true!)\r I hesitate to write this, because I don't want the word to get out! I love getting to work out on any piece of equipment without waiting and being around the who's who of Denver without all that pretentiousness! Pros: 90 minutes free parking, state of the art equipment, great people Cons: It is not cheap! more

Mediocrity Abounds! 10/2/2006

I was largely disappointed.\r \r How I wish there was a club here in Denver for those of us that actually have discerning taste. The equipment is dated, the facilities are dated and the personal attention was not 0, but close to it (not acceptable).\r \r The DAC needs to learn to cater to those of us that are young and successful because there are not many of us here in Denver AND WE TALK. The future is ours, and I imagine the club will at some point in the future need to replenish their aging membership. \r \r It's no wonder many of us are canceling our memberships and moving to smaller boutique gyms in the city... If I wanted to be treated like a working-class Joe, I would have joined 24-hour fitness! Simply laughable... Pros: Aquatics Facilities. Cons: Everything Else. more

The Best 4/17/2005

The social scene, restaurant, and, of course, the awesome programs and fitness equipment make this the premier club in Denver. This isn't your grandparents' club anymore! The DAC's Crimson Club caters to the 25-40 group so you can get the maximum out of your membership. Love it here! Pros: New equipment, Great classes, Social Opportunities more

User review by mcgechie 4/5/2005

The facility is great, but has been in need of a serious remodel in the locker rooms and f&B outlets. The poor taste in decor runs throughout and the club looks tired. As a member I was disappointed and with the lack of attention I resigned my membership. The club needs serious help. more

Costs outweigh few Benifits for an athletic club 3/9/2005

I visited the DAC as a prospective member and immediately felt unwelcome by the front desk representative, and couldn't even get her to offer me a tour. Upon use of the facilities i found that the locker rooms hadn't been updated in 50 years and the equipment seemed to be from the 80s. While the members at the club were very nice and helped me out, the staff was awful. So what it comes down to - if you want the most advanced equipment and most highly qualified trainers look elsewhere. While after complaining i did receive a very prompt reply and invitation back to the club, however after my first experience i never wanted to return. Pros: Downtown Location Cons: Mostly Older members, Rude Staff, Old Equipment more

Solid Facility 1/1/2003

Never crowded, great facilities and classes. Billiards and dining are a plus or entertaining clients. Pros: rarely/never crowded, squash, location Cons: under renovations, pricey more
