DR GRAY IS A HORRIBLE INCOMPETANT DENTIST!!! Uses methods from 100 years ago! I have never experienced so much pain in my life for so many days. I should have known better when the patient before me a 10-11 year old boy came tearing out of the office frantically screaming as he ran to his mother, hiding behind her in utter fear. ""Dr"" Gray chased behind him but he refused to leave his mother's back. I dismissed it because he was a child, but now I know the truth. I later went to an oral surgeon and he said he'd never seen anything so terrible as what she'd done and had to extract another tooth because of the damage she caused. Didn't feel a thing and very little pain with my new oral surgeon. more

My Family and I are sooooo happy we found Dental Plus California. We have been going there forever now and have beautiful smiles to show for it. And really nice Doctors and Caring staff, that's always the biggest Plus! more

STAY AWAY .. THEY WILL DOUBLE DIP, OVER CHARGE AND RUN AWAY IF CAUGHT.. Usually I right great reviews, but this time I have to say RUN and call your insurance company before you get ANY treatment. I have had a few problems with dentist trying to overcharge or have me only get premium crowns out of coverage. So when I switched to this office I called ahead and it sounded great. So I began with my first appointment (after just having 3 root canals at Endodonitst), so just needed crowns. My insurance said it will be $165 per crown and that includes the lab work. That is porcelain not metal. Well at my appointment I waited over 3 hours for xrays and ONE filling. I saw two full movies there, while waiting. The dentist said I needed a few fillings (which I found odd, since I had just been to another dentist a month before) and the crowns. Fine I went with it.The Dentist was gentle and sweet. Now the Nightmare. The girl comes out to show me the treatment plan. My crowns are $365 each for two teeth and 515 for the 3rd. for just porcelain crowns. I said um not what Met Life said. The dentist office said that Met Life doesn't do the lab fee, so each tooth has a $200.00 lab fee. My bill was going to be 1800 dollars. Holy cow and I am a poor teacher. I paid for the one filling (which was higher than the insurance company) and went home..I booked to come back on the 18th and had just given up on overcharging dentist. When I asked for a copy of the treatment plan, the girl said No because the doctor had a signature on it. Today to be safe I called Met LIfe and asked them. They said the dentist was double dipping ( they were paying the lab fee and I was) and they would call the office and find out. Met LIfe came back on the line and said the Dentist office wasn't aware of how much Met LIfe was paying, with my policy and it would be $165 per tooth and the office would have a new treatment plan in 30 minutes. To be safe and figure out my finances, about 2 hours later I went back to the dentist office. I asked for a copy of the new plan. The girl (was extremely rude) said they would be at the price Met Life said. I asked for a printout of the total, with the fillings, so I could transfer funds and be prepared for the appointment. I said I could wait, they were at lunch. Well I waited. Then she came back (some time later) and said well they will be doing Metal teeth on the back 2 teeth now and porcelain on the front. NOOOO!!! that was not what was told the week before. They told me before I could get metal and safe money. I had said no. Now they said that is all I can get, unless i not use the OPTIONAL Porcelain and it would be the 515 fee. Wait, when I asked for printouts or explanations, the computer miraculously was crashing. I asked for a printout or copy for the insurance company, and the girl refused. I left and was in tears. So I went home and again called Met Life. They had told me at Met LIfe, don't do anything until checking with them. They were Outraged and said the dentist office was changing the treatment plan after the fact. I had signed off on the other treatment plan and they were trying to change it. IT WAS FRAUD. Met Life called.. First time they were hung up on Met Life called again... Second time they were hung up on/ caller ID Third call.. went to fax by the 4th time the Met LIfe Rep was not happy. She went to Member Services and they are going to deal with the dentist office. I am going to go to the BBB and report fraud and with holding documents I signed. Met Life said to always get copies, I tried. Needless to say Met Life immediately changed my dentist and called a dentist to make sure they knew what was going on. How can companies rob people so much. I highly recommend Dr. Nina Gray she is the best! The staff is very friendly and everyone in the office is professional and caring. My daughter recently had a dental emergency and I am very grateful to have found Dr. Nina Gray she was very gentle, compassionate and I can tell she truly loves what she does. I know my daughter was in great hands. Over all everyone in the office from the front desk, assistants and Dr. Gray provided both my daughter and I with comfort and reassurance that everything would be okay. I am a hairstylist in Beverly Hills and have gone to many dental Doctor's in the past. The experience I had at Dr.Gray's office was unbeatable. Her ENTIRE staff was so kind and comforting. My smile and my teeth are very important and are the first thing that people look at. I highly, highly, highly, recommend Dental Plus to all who are looking for a fun experience. Yes I know that you may be thinking that you can't have fun at the dental office, but I did. I was so relaxed that I almost fell asleep. The other reason to become a client here is I have never been treated more like a person. They actually cared how I was feeling the ENTIRE time I was in the chair, lobby, and checking out. I really like this place and everyone at the office is truly nice. From the first minute, I was treated like a human being and the doctor listened to me! This is a change from what I am used to with my medical doctors. I have been a patient now for over a year and think this must be one of the better dental offices in the San Fernando Valley. Another good thing I have noticed is that they take a lot of dental insurance plans (I had trouble finding decent offices in the past that take my insurance). Overall, I highly recommend Dental Plus California to anyone looking for a dentist in Tarzana or the Valley area. Pros: Good dentists, nice people and they take a lot of dental insurance plans. Cons: On Ventura Boulevard (a lot of afternoon traffic). more

The Best of the Best! The nicest and gentlest doctors work here. Several of my friends have also gone here following my recommendation, and they have been so happy. Take if from me, if you do not like going to the dentist, this is the place to go! The friendly staff will make you feel so comfortable from the second you walk in and the doctors really take their time doing treatment and they always followup with you the next day.
