I was hit by a drunk driver. Some of my front teeth had become loose and damaged as a result. I went to Walpole Dental Associates and they immediately gave me a panoramic X-ray, which most solo dental offices do not have. This is the Cadillac of dentistry. And it is due to money. They don't want to pay for a panoramic machine even though they easily could. How do I know? Worked for one. TRUST ME ON THIS. I KNOW. Been there, done that.
Not only did they stablize me teeth, the Doctor, Dr .A'pril called me that night to see if I was okay. I mean, this woman works all day, has children and took the time out to call me????? Incredible.
The bottom line is this; They have a practice which has the cutting edge on X-rays, computerized crowns and specialists right up the stair. If you need a root canal or oral surgery. They get it. I used to go to a solo practitioner, very nice with somewhat antiquated equipment. But when it all comes down, you need some one or a practice that has the technology, personnel and specialists to help you.
Kind of like going to a no name clinic only to be referred outside, which takes days or weeks on end.
You want an MGH/ B and W hospital care with the best available or some nice, sweet dentists that locks up on Thursday afternoon?
Only reason I'm going on here is that I was mistreated by my "solo" dentist. Call on Friday? Forget it. Call back on Monday.
Dentists get paid exorbitant amounts of money. More than medical doctors if you are a sole dentist, working for yourself. It's beyond belief. I do not understand why they are not regulated like medical doctors. These guys are reeling in the money with no regard to if your tooth stays in your mouth of falls out. Believe me, they could care less.
Want to curtail the negativity, but think about what situation you are in? Teeth do not rejuvenate. Your teeth do not repair, by themselves. Especially if you have been in an accident, which jeopardizes you mouth.
