This repair happened over 3 years ago. The customer paid in full when he picked up his car because he was happy with the repair. This customer made a complaint to the BBB and the complaint was closed because they found the complaint so questionable and unreasonable. The BBB doesn’t close a complaint because of no response. The customer was told in the beginning exactly what we had to do to repair his vehicle including, jacking up his vehicle to get access to his dents in his rear ¼ panel. Paint was not rubbed off. The paint cracked (this was a hairline crack) on the front fender between fender and fender well molding. Honda’s idea to paint a molding “onto” a fender, of which no other manufacture does and probably the only vehicle they did this to. This happened when our tools push up against the molding then cracked the paint of which I offered to have painted and customer refused. Yes we used paint thinner on a little overspray from the undercoat we sprayed, on the lip of the fender well, not on the outside of the vehicle, to cover the hole that we told the customer we would have to drill in order to get access to the dents. We drilled hole, fixed dent, sprayed hole with undercoat then plugged hole and sprayed it again so it was not a visible plug. The damage to the underside of the car was a slightly bent ear of a control arm for the rear wheel. This was bent I agree but was bent back with a pair of pliers. This is a Honda “Prius” I believe. The metal is extremely thin, even the frame. Responses were delayed I agree. We thought this customer was either trying to get something for free or just mentally ill and as of now agree to the later. When I finally met with the customer, I did pay him back $100 dollars and did buff out a scratch for him that he “asked” me to do for him for free. By the way ”Jacks Paint Place” said they would never paint his car anyway. They told me he was to picky of customer and would never be able to make him happy. And I can get that in writing too.
