We were long time fans of Deno's pizza, but unfortunately we ordered the hombre - supposed to be a taco pizza, but the pizza ended up not being what we expected and then to boot the pizza didn't taste right and were not able to eat much of it. Shortly after eating the pizza, the whole family started to become sick. We reported the concern to Deno's not expecting anything out of it and they offered right away to reimburse us or provide us with another pizza. We took them up on getting another pizza at another time and thanked them for their courtesy. 4-5 days later we picked up our pizza - going with the usual instead of the hombre, and the pizza was great. The next morning, the owner of Deno's called us at 8:30 in the morning to question us about why we recieved a free pizza. She immediately argued with us on the pizza being bad and demanded to know why we deserved a free pizza. We explained that it was offered to us due to the complaint. She was extremely aggressive and continued the questioning - hanging up on us in the end. Her biggest issue was that we didn't turn the pizza in that was of question - although we offered to because we had well over half of it left. My husband was the person who dealt with all of this and being a chef and a former restaurant manager, he felt it was important to call in the concern. We found that while they typically make wonderful pizza, the owner is seriously lacking customer service skills and respect for the clients who frequent the business. Here we come Flying Pie...later Deno's.
Pros: Great Pizza
Cons: Disrespectful Owner
