Claims her modeling school is number one in the nation when she doesn't have one client who is well known in the entertainment industry or modeling industry for that matter. Denise Hewitt has been my friend and mentor and Modeling instructor for over 30 years. I entered a lot of pageants, but did not win until I took her course. Upon taking an additional class “What it takes to win a Pageant.” Then I became Ms model of the year and miss Michigan world. The pic that someone showed and says is Denise totally crazy. On the Yelp site, the woman in the pic is Sylvester Stallone’s mother after implants. In related images the transvestites are definitely not Denise Hewitt; the one I know. I took Denise'™s course 30 years ago. Denise has fantastic energy, connections, and understands what it takes to be a successful model. I still use much of what I learned about marketing, staging, framing, posing, lighting, and customer skills today in graphic arts. I also used techniques working in television and film. I went to MSU after working for Denise. I had an advantage when I took courses because I had many years of marketing under my belt between her course, a job at a high-end boutique (Gantos), working at AnDiamo, and a newspaper route I had for years. Denise is very cool, tenacious, a good friend, giving, keeps up on networking, and is realistic. As a model, you are ultimately there to sell a product. You are showing that product in it's best light. Many places will show you œhow to look and move, but have no clue how to sell (not even taught at college). I had taken modelling courses before meeting Denise at a place called Mannequin. I learned posing, walking, etc., but Mannequin did not teach vital marketing skills, or place models in jobs immediately. Whoa, wow. Thats all I can here. So I currently attend trade shows and at the one I was attending, this short little woman who looked to be about 70 years old came up to my booth. She gladly handed me her business card, which right off the bat I could tell was fake and not professional. She proceeded to ask me if I was hiring. I began to explain to her that I wasn't looking and by the way she was dressed and carried herself, I would not be interested in hiring her. At that moment I thought she would walk away and go bother someone else, but she actually told me If I had a change of heart that she would be staying at her hotel and would love it if I paid her a "Visit." She then mentioned her room number and made sure I knew that her number on the card she gave me was the one I could contact her at. This woman is a serious piece of work and I feel really bad if anyone else has experienced the same. I wouldn't touch this lady with a ten foot pole. more
