The only redeeming quality about DeLuca's is their ribs. The restaurant is extremely crowded and loud, so it's not a very relaxing place to go.

It is SOOOOOOO GOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!! 8/13/2008

I started going there when I was growing up with my parents. I went there on my first date. We have had showers, graduation parties,\r a wedding reception, and funeral receptions. It's the place to go for special occasions or if you just want to feel special. The staff is very courteous, friendly and efficient. The food is fresh and tasty..\r I recommend Delucas to everyone. It's the taste of Italy for a very fair price. Portions are humongous. Go hungry, leave with a doggy bag. I give this place ten stars more

Not that great 11/11/2007

I have friends that just rave about Deluca's. We went there for a bridal shower and for a 30th birthday party. I have to say that the food was okay. I noticed in the menu that their pasta was 'imported'...that seems like code for "purchased." If I am going to a great Italian resturant, I want fresh pasta..not store bought. I can do that myself at home with my homemade marinara. I am half Italian myself and have had great homemade Italian food my whole life. This place just didn't do it for me. I can think of another resturant not too far away that blows Deluca's away on Italian fare. more

ITALIAN ROOTS 9/18/2007

I eat out often. Friends call me a Food Snob. I go where the food is fresh and tasty. DeLuca's is at the top of my list - when the wife lets me go ;-) I used to work there a while back - they had little old ladies that come in the morning to make homemade gnocchi and sauce among other things. It is crazy that they don't charge more! I love it and I recommend this for big appetites (or small - pizza for breakfast is my favorite!)! Oh and don't forget their banquets - we have had my wife's baby shower there and the christening - the prices were so affordable. more

Good Food 2/25/2007

I've been going there since I was a kid (I'm 43 now). And now take my wife and kids there quite often. I think I took my first date there. I've always liked the spaghetti and meatballs and the Antipasto salad. Their pizza is my favorite. The pasta sauce is a lot better than Amantea's. Amantea's is too watery. I believe both places are in the same family (brothers). \r \r A few times ago, there was a long wait because someone died there and they weren't seating anyone while the EMS crew worked on the guy. I checked it out and confirmed that the guy didn't die from the food or anything like that. That was the only time we left while in line. Line usually moves very quick. more

MY FAMILY AND I HAVE BEEN GOING TO DELUCASRESTAURANT FOR MANY YEARS AND WE REALLY ENJOY IT!!! THE SAUCE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD AND THE BREAD STICKS ARE AWESOME!!! WE HAVE NEVER HAD TO WAIT LONG EITHER FOR A PLACE TO SIT AND WE WERE SERVED PROMPTLY. THE PRICES ARE COMPAREABLE TO OTHER FINE ITAILIAN RESTAURANTS more

an itialian restaruant 9/14/2005

Ok. I know alot of people love this place and I must say for the most part they are good. BUT I have a "child" that works here and has for 5 years and she has told me something that I can't get out of my head. They reuse the bread that has been on the tables of previous diners. They just rerun it thru the warming machine. SO, that is my only beef. They just added a favorite meal of mine fettachini alfredo but it is very bland. If you like thin crust pizza this would be a place for you. The building itself is nice but rooms are a little crowded. They have a full bar. The salads are great. The staff here are very friendly and attentive. PROS: nice ambience CONS: they reuse the bread more

variety menu 9/6/2005

Delucas has a large variety on the menu. Something for adults and children. Their pizza's are the best. They have small round flat sausages and stringy onions. I have eaten in a few times and the carry out is just as good. This place is always busy and they have limited hours so make sure they are open before you decide to go but it is well worth the trip. I helped my inlaws move and that was our reward dinner. It is the best. The lasagna was great. Hot rolls with air in the center and just right. more

Best on the West Side 12/20/2004

Detroit is home to scores of ""neighborhood Italian"" restaurants - family owned, reasonably priced, modestly decorated - that feature unpretentious, delicious Italian-American fare served in an atmosphere of mid-century charm. De Lucas is no exception. This Warren Rd. landmark has been serving excellent pizza, spaghetti, and veal parm since the 1950s. I'm biased - De Luca's is probably the first pizza I ever ate, and it remains my favorite today (in fact, writing this review just inspired me to order some carry out). It's definitely worth a visit - the best independent pizza on the west side. Pros: Great food, Reasonable prices, Friendly atmosphere Cons: , Limited parking more

  • DeLucas Restaurant and Pizzaria, celebrating 50 years of business in 2010, has involved three generations of family members in this Michigan restaurant. In 1960, Italian immigrants Pat DeLuca and his brother-in-law Jim opened the Willow Bar, a neighborhood bar for nearby factory workers, in Lansing, Michigan, but the pizza they served became so popular the business eventually switched its name to DeLucass Restaurant and Pizzeria.
