Della salas is Always a good decision! Im about to pick up a half baked green peppers n sausage so I can eat it right out of the oven at home! Where else can you get different toppings on each slice of ur pie, for under .80 cents a slice? Nowhere! Thats where! The quality, price, taste, and location cant be beat. I found Della Sala's in high school. Back then, they had a board for slices eaten in an hour. I immediately set about establishing a pizza eating record that stood for several years. I've lived in Florida since 1973 and tell anyone who will listen about Della Sala's. I still have family in Pernn Hills, Verona and Oakmont. A visit is not complete without a trip to the place. My daughter, her husband and kids are moving to Oakmont next month. The weather is better in Ft Lauderdale; but, not the pizza. By the slice or by the pie; it's still tops. more

This stuff is so good it should be illegal! I moved to Florida a few years ago and cannot find pizza I like here. Everytime I goto Pittsburgh I make sure I fit in a trip to Della Sala's. Their prices are unbelievable too. You cant go wrong, and you cant beat it! Once you try their pizza, no other pizza will ever compare!! Pros: AMAZING PIZZA! GREAT PRICES!! more

Like everyone else who wrote in, my husband and I grew up eating Della Salas. We have lived in Florida now over 30 years and have found nothing even close to their pizza. My wonderful brother surprised us, bought special containers and overnighted us Dela Salas half baked pizza ( $85.00 in postage and handling!) We just finished eating it and it was wonderful. The crust is still so unique- crisp on the bottom yet so thick , light and airy. Everything about it was great. My kitchen smells so good from cooking it. I say it's time for Della Sala's to move to Florida and open up a pizza shop. Otherwise we need to find a cheaper way for my brother to ship it so we can have it more often. I have been visiting Della Sala's since the mid 60's and their pizza still tastes the same. When I go there it's like stepping back in time - it sure brings back a lot of old found memories. Pros: The best pizza that I have ever had more

I grew up in Penn Hills and This by far is the BEST pizza ever. I have since moved it has been about 8 years and anytime anyone in the family goes back home we return with at least 30 pieces or so of this pizza, the same when family come here to visit. You cannot come without this pizza. (It is a rule) We get it half baked and ziploc it up, and off we go. I am not sure what it is about this pizza, all I KNOW is, it is the BEST. We moved to Verona Road when I was in the 5th grade and discovered Della Sella's Pizza. I remember my first slice with mushrooms. I was hooked. I would save my nickels during the week and on Friday after school I would order up a slice. It was .20 for a plain slice and.25 if you wanted mushrooms. more

My parents (now deceased) raised me on pepperoni pizza from della sala's. It was run by a lovely couple who became friends with my parents. That was over 35 years ago. I grew up and moved to Montana and would make sure to stop in everytime I came back for a visit. I finally settled in a suburb of Cleveland and every year I make two or three trips in just for the pizza (250 miles round trip) My friends called me crazy until I brought them back a few pieces. Now they ask me to bring them back 1/2 cooked pizzas when I go in for a visit. I end up buying 10 or 12 full 16 cut pizzas and hauling them back to Ohio. I will do this until the day I die. The most succulent, tasty, glorious food taste that anyone could want to experience. Being raised Catholic I am going to pay for my gluttonous sins because of this pizza but I do not care, so long as I can get a few slices in the next life. Born in the suburbs of Pittsburgh and raised on Della Sala's pizza, now living in South Daytona Beach, wishing there was a Della Sala's chain here. They have the best dang pizza in the world. I even called and asked if I could get it airmail here. I miss that pizza so bad, I dream about it, my taste budz are just a watering for it, If you read this and have never been there GO. The crust is to die for, light sauce and real and I mean real mozzerella cheese and the hot sausage, there's no other like it. BORN AND RAISED IN PENN HILLS.GREW UP ON DELLA SALAS PIZZA. I NOW LIVE IN MASS, BUT STILL GET BACK TO THE BERG AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR. FIRST STOP DELLA SALA'S. Dad was a steel worker so pizza wasn't a meal in the 60's. It was always a treat after a Penn Hills Football game to go to Della Sallas or to have it for your birthday party. Now in my 50's it is nostalgic and still as delicious as ever not too much sauce but a generous amount of spice and lots of cheese and a crust to die for. The crust is thick but light is that is possible. And it is impossible to wait until you get home to dig into the first piece. My family always notices one piece missing when at home.
