We used to come to Dee's often, but this time it was such a disaster. A simple pizza was overloaded with garlic and when we mentioned it to the staff, we were told to "" stop complaining, pay the check and never come back'. Do not go to DEE's unless you'd like to see a rude manager and eat crappy food. more

One of the better Italian restaurants in the area 6/22/2008

I read the reviews before I went to Dee's the other night. I was a little hesitant about the possible rush, especially with guests. The place was packed, which is sort of an indication that the food isn't terrible. This isn't always the case, but it's become pretty standard around here. The vacant establishments are often lacking in service, food, and advertising. Despite the packed crowd, we were seated immediately. It is not the best place to discuss private matters or break up with a significant other. Tables are crammed side by side here. I definitely was able to hear other conversations quite clearly. Bum's rush 6/6/2008

It just wasn't relaxing or fun. I felt rushed. The wait staff must have tried to take my plate 4 or 5 times before I was finished. The food did come extremely quickly and I got the feeling the staff would like us to eat just as quickly and get out of there. So we did. Pros: Fun to see the brick ovens Cons: rushed and noisy more

If you know Italian food you should not go here! 1/16/2007

We eat at alot of Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. We decided to try this place tonight (Tuesday). The service was horrible and the food was also below average. The brick oven pizza was served to us as a soggy mess which fell apart at any attempt to eat it. It seemed like the dough was uncooked. We were forced to send it back. We also ordered the penne with chicken. This was a disaster as well. The sauce was light as described but also very bland. The red peppers in the sauce also tasted like they came out of a can. Moreover, the slices of chicken were extremely big (1""X3""X0.75""). You would expect the chicken to be cut into bite size pieces similar in size to the penne pasta so it can all be eaten with only a fork; however this was far from the case. Also the chicken tasted a little funny. As though it was boiled rather than grilled or pan cooked. All in all we were very dissatisfied with this restaurant. Please save your money. There are many other Italian restaurants in the area which are alot better. You could try this little place called Spolini's, not many people know about it but its good food and good people. 2 words ""Stay Away"" ! ! 12/14/2006

Staff was so rude, made me and my wife feel invisable. Food was ok, we have eatan at many brick oven pizzeria's all over NYC and this place was weak. Service horrible, noticed the pretty young girls behind us were greeted and seated much quicker then we were if that tells you what the staff is like and no we are a slender couple in case you thought they were clearing a table that we could fit in. Pros: If your a pretty Women (not a man) then your all set Cons: Staff Rude. Food below average for a brick oven pizzera had better pizza from Ellos. more

I have been to the best and I travel from manhattan to Dee's without blinking an eye... the BEST! Grimaldi's is pretty good, Patsy's ehhh, Dee's is excellent! Try it and you will be a convert hands down! Pros: Selection, Food, Service Cons: Not close enough to Manhattan! more

Great Atmosphere! 1/29/2006

I've been going to Dee's for years.... They recently moved to a bigger location and created a really nice atmosphere. The decor is great for a romantic dinner; the service is incredible! And, the food is great! We usually order their pizza to go (try the chicken delight!) and then order their other menu items as we sit and dine.... I definitely have a great experience whenever I go! Dee's is the newest of many reasons that the neighborhood is a great place to be. From the owners to the staff to the food, all signs say ""Welcome"" Very conducive to meeting new neighbors, always a fun place to be without too much noise. New menu is a hit ! Pros: food, staff, atmosphere more

Best Place in Queens 8/7/2005

Husband and I love this place and do enjoy a nice meal at least 3 to 4 times a month here. Love the delicious Foccacia Bread and their great appetizer selection. Their Pizzas are great and you can order half portion pastas (How great is that for Weight conscious folks!!!!). As for the staff, SUPERB, you can not find a friendlier group of young folks who are happy to serve you no matter what time of the day you are there or how exhasuted they are. DOn't foget to try Mama's rice pudding when it is available, seems mama is not always in the mood to make them ;) Make sure you have their coffee it is fantastic. One request pls don't fill up the salads with so much lettuce after all we are humans and not cows (This goes to all restaurants as well). Pros: Great Staff, Great Food, Great Price more

I MAKE THE TRIP FROM THE EAST SIDE ONCE A WEEK FOR THE GREAT FOOD AND EVEN BETTER SERVICE. THE LAMB CHOPS MELT IN YOUR MOUTH. THE KNOWLEDGABLE WAITRESS SELECTS THE PERFECT WINE TO COMPLEMENT THE PERFECT MEAL. more
