Editorial review from Citysearch 4/24/2015

Love the care and service provided! I have been using Deep Creek Veterinary Hospital for many years and the level of care, compassion & overall service is TOP NOTCH! I have over the years had the pleasure of taking my pup to several of the doctors there and each one is great! The staff knows me & my pet by name, I feel a part of the 'family' there. I have friends that have used other vets and am happy to say Deep Creek Vet is the best and most reasonably priced! more

First visit 1/27/2012

Had to wait longer than I expected but overall I was happy. All of the staff went out of there way to express their concern for my time (thumbs up), they were all very polite (thumbs up), the vet was very helpful and I was not billed an arm and a leg. I will be back. Pros: null Cons: null more

3 Year Old for a Groomer!!! 1/23/2012

Okay, I been coming to this vet for about 6 years now and I must say it is going down hill. As soon as you get used to a staff member they leave. A cute blonde that used to work there for awhile who knew my name, my pets name and it was a comfortable feeling to come in and have her cheerful attitude. Now it as cheerful as a wall. My husband even liked that blonde because she knew exactly what food, medicine etc we usually purchase. And the ones that have been there forever are the ones that should be dismissed. The only staff member worth talking to there is a lady named Bobbi who has been there forever and actually smiles. Too bad she is not the receptionist, doctor or groomer! They have groomers then they lose them and the one they have now is AWFUL! My 3 year old grandson could of cut my babies hair better than her. She came out and asked me if I liked it and she was not friendly at all. I couldnt say no because how would she fix the job she had already performed? Choppy , jagged and when she handed him off to me- he looked scared. Petsmart is cheaper and though the ladies are not the most cheerful- I know they can do a better job and not butcher my animal. More than likely they will have a new groomer in a week like usual or a new receptionist, the turn over in this business is crazy and I think thats why it has gone downhill. I hope they read these reviews because something has to change. Pros: null Cons: null more

Awful!!!!!!! Run! 1/19/2012

First off I am def one to write reviews for awesomeness of a facility or business, but this one is not going to be a positive review. I walked in as a new client and no one said hello, nothing- just handed me a clip board and said fill this out. I fill these forms out and sign them and then wait forever to be seen. After waiting I get into the room and yes- the review below mine is correct...cigarette smoke to a point she touchewd my animal and he smelled like cigarettes!!!! I have children and the last smell I need them to smell is cigarette smoke. So anyways he comes in and looks at my animal, gives him some vaccines and then tries to push more vaccines on me- ridiculous. Not everyone makes a ton of money like a veterinarian and should not be pushed or feel bad for not having the works done... I came in- doesnt that count? anyways- I will spend my money somewhere else, def not here!!! My bill was outrageous and an exam is 50 dollars!!! I just really was not impressed at all. My friends come here and after I told them they were in shock and will not be going back again either. Its n overpriced business. Pros: null Cons: null more

Don't Come Here! Awful!!!! 1/14/2012

If you love your animal- dont bring them here. Been here a few times within the past month. You walk in and the staff is very unfriendly and noone smiles, they all look miserable! You wait to have your name called and thats if they can find your chart even THOUGH YOU MADE AN APPOINTMENT!!! You sit and wait, and then an unfriendly assistant greets you and you can't even breath int he room with them because they reek of cigarette SMOKE! Disgusting. Then she takes your info and then proceeds to tell you what you should have done today with vaccines etc..blah blah...Then the unfriendly doctor who doesnt even pet your animal when entering the room comes in and just tells you how you need this vaccine and this one and oh have you had this and that???? Pushing and pushing these vaccines and exams on you- and might I add they are the MOST EXPENSIVE VET! I switched to another vet in the area because they are way low and give a discount on wellness exams w/routine vaccines. (how nice is that?) Please if you really want to find a caring veterinary hospital who doesn't rip you off- look around. Do not go here. Pros: null Cons: null more

Awesome Customer Service 12/21/2011

I am a newbie here and I was calling around asking for prices and yes they are a more expensive than surrounding clinics- but I was blessed to have a girl named Stephanie answer. She was bubbly, cheerful, asked me if I was excited about the holiday and new year- so nice. I made an appt for when she would be working and in person was very kind and cheerful. Hard now a days to walk into a business and have a cheerful person greet you. I like it here- so maybe from reading Sandys remarks...maybe its changed. Pros: null Cons: null more

If you worked there you would understand 9/22/2011

I also was employeed at Deep Creek Vet. The boarding facility sucks, its dark, cold and dirty, smelly. ....must I go on. trust me if you worked there you would understand completely. The bottom line there is money at your pets expense. Its been a while but I'm sure if its still the same owner its the same as it was then. he was the one who never wanted it better. The surgery area is not sterile (wasn't then) . All you ahve to do is look at the place and see there is no pride in ownership of it. I still drive by and it still is as dingy as it always has been. Do your pets a favor and find a more solid vet. this place is a joke. more

Animal Lovers, Excellent Customer Service! 8/14/2011

Okay, I have been going to Deep Creek now for awhile now, and I am so angry about reading that nasty review listed below. My animals love all the doctors, our babies have seen every single doc, even the doctor who is only available on Mondays. I agree that within a few months, I have seen a huge turn around w/ the staff especially the receptionist, but it seems to be a positive turn around. Our favorite or should I say my wifes fav is Stephanie (shes been there for like 4 months or so) and I can def agree w/a previous reviewer on here- she is very understanding, honest and bubbly and seems like she knows what customer service is and how to make everyone smile and laugh in the waiting area. Our animals love her and of course others as well. I like when we walk in she remembers our names and our babies names and everyone who walks in after. I work for a huge corp and I would like her on board w/my business because now a days its hard to find cheerful people who love what they do and do not care about the moo-la. Deep Creek sent us a welcome card, we recently rescued a pupp and Deep Creek gave us a cute new puppy kit FREE and was in a baby bag- very cute- well my wife loved it. Docs are very nice, and we trust them w/our babies. Maybe Phiniix you just were not a perfect fit at Deep Creek, maybe you should work in a call center in a cubicle or something. If Deep Creek did not respect their employees then why do they seem so cheerful and happy? Surgery w/ animals and humans- some will pass, and no matter how cold a person is- they care. If you worked in the kennel why did you not let the animals out more or feed them more? you had control at one time and could of made a change instead you came on here bashing a perfectly, awesome animal hospital who DOES care. I been in more than a few times and came on to praise them and when I read your review Phiniix- my mouth dropped and as a ex-employee, you should be ashamed because Deep Creek cares and my animals love Deep Creek and we have been to many vets from moving from the military and none compare to Deep Creek w/ their customer service. So thank you Deep Creek. We love you! more

really good place 8/4/2011

I have been boarding my pets here for a long time. The staff is really good and cares for the animal. the kennel staff is train good and know how to handle aggressive dogs. there is not worries about my pet being there. i have seen the kennel area it is set up good for boarding your animals. my one dog is old and on meds. they give him his meds every day and takes a little more time with him because he is slower then the rest. they make my pets feel at home. the doctors are really good and lets you know everything they can do for your pet. more

Previous employee 7/25/2011

Hi. I am reviewing from the perspective of being a previous employee, and was employed there for 2 months as a kennel attendant. This place does not respect their employees or above all the care they give their patients. I would never recommend this place. Dogs have died on the surgery table at the fault of the DVM and they joke about it. One doctor in particular calls his co workers dumb asses to his clients on the phone. Did you know the boarding dogs are let out twice, and fed only once on Sundays or any holiday! On a rue-tine bases your dog would be in 13-15 hours over night before it would be let out to urinate/defecate. You ever wonder why all the old staff is no longer there? They all quit, including I. No one was fired. more

New Staff 6/8/2011

Okay- so i was a little unhappy when the old staff told me they were leaving- BUT a young, friendly , blonde haired girl named Stephanie who happens to be new- was out of this world. She was very outgoing- showed my little baby love and actually took the time to chat and spend quality time with me even though they were really busy. This office does get busy and in the past I felt so rushed like no one cared. The whole reception desk is new faces and I have not met the other girls but look forward to meeting them. Stephanie was very informative and is very well mannered- i hope she stays and they made a great decision bringing her on board. New faces- new love. more

Unprofessional and a waste of money 2/1/2011

We took our cat there, cost us about $300 for a few visits, could not determine what was wrong with our cat's eye, two days later took our cat to another vet in the area, found out she had an ulcer covering her whole eye. Definately I would not recommend this vet to anyone!!! more

Wonderful Vet 11/30/2009

I have been taking my dog, Nigel, to Deep Creek Veterinary for over five years. He goes monthly for grooming and he goes for his regular check-ups, including dental care, as well as for his scratches and bang-ups! Dr. Taylor and Dr. Jordan are absolutely awesome. You can tell they love their job and genuinely care about animals. I am so very pleased with the service and the staff that I recommend them to everyone. I would hate to know I had to take my little boy anywhere else! Pros: Caring and friendly staff more

Awesome Vet! 6/17/2008

I recently bought a puppy and took her to another vet (I will not mention) and was not happy at all when I left. I talked to a family member and found out where she took her new puppy and she told me Deep Creek Veterinary. When I went to this center I was treat kindly, and more importantly, so was my puppy. I absolutely will not go anywhere else now that I have seen how a real office works. Thank you so much to the staff and doctors. I would also like to add that the "parents" in the waiting room were extremely nice as well. So even as you wait to be seen, you can make new friends. As for the price...you are going to pay the same amount at any vet office around. They are very comparable to other prices around Hampton Roads. All the way around: awesome experience. Pros: Staff that you can see absolutely loves animals. Cons: N/A more

Great Customer Service 5/11/2008

GREAT!! My dog broke a bone in her foot and we hadn't found a vet but the adoption agency took her here so that's where I brought her. We were short on money at the time and they were more than happy to hold my check until we got paid. Very friendly staff and great doctors. more

Extremely expensive 3/3/2007

This is a very overpriced veterinarian. I would reccomend you go elsewhere and get the same service for much lower prices. Pros: nice staff Cons: very expensive more
