Decorating By Dan

This rating is for Northville paint co, not for Decorationg by Dan. I must stress this because as of the end of last year I refused to buy anything from Dan. He was extreamly rude so I decided to look elswhere . Well as luck has it there is a new owner and a new name but still carries Benjamin Moore. I stopped in there last week and I was welcomed by polite service and a very friendly, helpful staff. I even met the new owner who is as refreshing as he is kind. Nothing but positive changes here. Pros: great costumer service, still has the Benjamin Moore products Cons: hmmm...I can't think of one more

I went in to Dans for the first time in 3yrs yesterday only to find that new owners bought the place. They also changed the name to Northville Paint Co.. Believe me the change doesn't stop at the name. They got rid of wallpaper :( which I don't like but the sevice improved HUGE!! The store is lookin great. There's no more clutter. Good people, good change, good job! Pros: Great new owners and service!! Cons: No wallpaper more

A little politeness can go a long way. I just called and asked about Aura, a new paint product from Benjamin Moore. I rec'd a free sample coupon in the mail and called to ask if they accept it. I could hear Dan speaking less than nicely in the background. The woman on the phone was nice, but Dan in the background was yelling how he's not going to give directions to where I can redeem this coupon. Settle down, Dan, I didn't ask for directions, it clearly states on the postcard where I can go to redeem the coupon. They don't carry Aura, fine. But could you be nice about it? I've had less than wonderful experiences from Decorating by Dan before and this one just put the nail in the cofffin -- there are other dealers of Benjamin Moore paint -- I'll go find them! Pros: Carries Benjamin Moore paint and wallpaper catalogs Cons: Expensive (but it's the paint brand) and owner NOT NICE. more
