I went to Dr. De Mercurio for substance abuse. When I first starting seeing him he was prescribing me suboxone for my opiate addiction which was okay. When it was time for my second visit he asked me how I have been feeling and I told him I have been feeling anxious lately so he prescribes me valium. Then the next visit he prescribes me klonopin, which is not a good idea to give someone who has an addictive personality. So when my insurance ran out at the end of December 08, instead of weaning me off the medication he was still prescribing me 6mg of klonopin a day and 8mg of suboxone a day. So come January I had to go to rehab to get off these drugs and I went through months and months of withdrawals and still to this day I crave benzodiazepines everyday. So in my eyes this doctor is the worst psychiatrist I have ever know.
Pros: he gives you whatever drugs you want
Cons: he gets you addicted to prescription medication
