I have been a customer of Dave Mays Automotive for 25 years. I have an old car, a 1983, and not many places or people in Gainesville know how to work on old cars. I also had an old car before this one. Dave Mays knows how they tick. He knows what is wrong and how to put it back together, even using wire if necessary. Their work has always been very good. If there is any problem they stand behind their work, even replacing faulty parts at no cost. I am totally satisfied with the service I've received. I've been going to Dave Mays Automotive for a long time now. I think it's been more than five years. I have three cars that I take to them, and I know Dave on a first name basis. I was just in yesterday, and they replaced the exhaust gas recirculation solenoid and time delay switch. I've been in within the last month twice because it's an older car. The time before, they did an oil change, a complete transmission fluids flush, they replaced the ignition wire set, and they replaced the front disc pads and de-glazed front rotors. I like the fact that they provide quality, consistent service. With the charts they keep, I think they have it set up when it reaches so many miles, they can give you suggestions. And when you go to them consistently, there's no gaps. I feel confident that they'll do a quality job. I really like the fact that I consider Dave an honest businessman, and I consider that an important quality. He once had one of my cars in the shop for a long time while I was traveling, and when he determined he couldn't do the work, he didn't charge me. He could've just made something up. more
