Daniel's Custom Tailoring

My review was deleted I broght in pants it took him ove a month to get them done everyday I would call and he would either have a story or say they would be done tomorrow. A month later they were done He did do a good job but he is just a B. S. er.. Tell the truth that's all I ask. more

best tailor in orange county. i've been all over this area and had so many of my clothes destroyed by mall tailors and dry cleaners. a friend was getting her wedding dress made by daniel so i decided to give him a try. i brought in my bridesmaid dress that ended up being two sizes to big and and when i got it back it fit like a glove! what caught me was that he "wanted me to wear the dress, not the dress to wear me." it was unbelievable. and my friend's dress was the most gorgeous wedding dress i've laid eyes on. \r i told him about my problems with the clothes the other tailors destroyed and he asked me to bring them in just to see what he could do - and what i can only describe as a miracle happened. he fixed jackets, a dress, and some pants that i thought i would never be able to wear again.\r give him a try! you will not be disappointed!!! more

i took three pairs of pants to get altered because they were too long. Not only was he effiicent but it was the best job i have had on my pants. He understood the cut of my jeans and the length came out perfrect. I am glad i found a tailor i can trust becuase i have had tailor shops and even nordstroms butcher my pants. Like AlanaB I have had nothing by issues with Daniel. I don't understand why the give you a pick up time if the alterations are not finished on their due date. Poor time management and I think he is sending the clothing to be altered to an off site location, due to my clothes were not there in the shop to pick up. What is the point of selecting a Tailor if he doesn't do the work or is there to supervise. The work is OK if you can wait 2-4 weeks after the scheduled due date and pay too much for average work... more

Daniel's is a joke. He takes advantage of your situation and has a good sense of how desperate you are to have something altered and will charge accordingly. There is no pricing chart. He just charges whatever he wants because he "has to pay the rent". \r \r And if you don't want to do the alterations done his way (i.e. have four bra cups inserted into the wedding dress) then he gets noticably upset.\r \r On top of all that, he says your garment will be done on a particular day then when you drive all the way over there he will tell you he could not get to it due to a holiday etc.\r \r BEWARE OF THIS ONE. STAY AWAY!!! more

Read on:\r \r I took my wedding dress to him and he promised it back in 1 week, but not without first requiring full payment up front. One week later I called before stopping by...it wasn't ready. I called everyday for another week, with Mr. Daniel always asking for "one more day." There was always some dire emergency (excuse) keeping him from getting it done. I had to threaten him to get it done with only 1 week left before the wedding (at this point he'd had the dress for over 1 month already). \r \r What he considered "finished" was nowhere near what we had discussed, it looked like the same unfinished dress. I am sorry to have done business with this guy. He is very expensive and takes 100% payment in advance. But he does shoddy work and refuses to fix the problems that you point out during alteration. If you press on you'll never see what you paid for. I am still fighting to get a shirt that I paid for last October. He just says that he is busy and will get it for you by tomorrow. I just don't know how he can open his shop everyday and take peoples money without any shame. He just very calmly apologizes and tells you he'll get it done right away, but you'll never see what you paid for. more

I and several family members have made use of Daniel's services over the years. Though he is expensive, in the past, his work has been of reasonable quality. Something has changed.\r \r I brought in a relatively simple alteration which he convinced me had to be much more elaborate -- but that then the garment would "look made for me." I believed him and forked over $50. (Yes -- he always insists on his money upfront.)\r Well -- three attempts later, the garment is basically ruined, fitting worse now than when I brought it in!\r \r Does he feel bad? Does he stand by his work? \r \r Are you kidding? He made it clear it was MY fault because I complained!! Here he talks me into the extra services and then disses me when he can't do the job!\r \r Unbelievable! When he says he guarantees his work, it simply isn't true! more

I brought in 2 jeans that were 3 or 4 sizes too big and now 2 days later they fit me like a glove! Daniel is friendly and does an incredible job! I will never take my clothes anywhere else! Try it and you'll be glad you did!!! more

When I graduated from Mission Viejo High School in 1999, I decided to use my graduation money to buy a nice suit. At first, I thought that I would go to Men's warehouse and get two, maybe three suits. After stopping by at Daniel's per my father's request I was convinced that it was better to buy one quality suit rather than have three cheap suits so I bought my first suit, custom made from Daniel. Now almost a decade later that suit has served me well through 4 years in the Marine Corps, and 4 years of college. Now I am back home from college and went straight to Daniel's to have my SECOND suit made with, that's right, my college graduation money! I cannot tell you how well my first suit has held up, it looks and feels like the day I bought it. I am entering a career that requires me to wear a suit daily and I will NEVER buy a suit off the rack, I will eat macaroni and cheese for a month in order to be able to get a suit from Daniel! Daniel is an old world craftsman, the kind of craftsman who takes pride in his work. He will not have any job leave his shop without ensuring that the clothing is made for the client to allow the client to be seen in the best light in the suit or other clothes tailored. If all you wish is to have pants hemmed - easy and will also be done right. But if you wish to have a suit, pants, dress, shirt FITTED correctly, then this is the man that can recraft your garment to be make for you. If you are comfortable paying for care and expertise, then this is the man for you. We should all be paid for our expertise, and he does not overcharge for the work he does, however, he does not run a sloppy shop and his training is too good for him to charge nothing for the fine work done. I further suggest that his eye for the correct type of garment for the individual client is so good, that having him design and construct a custom suit for you is well worth the investment. Daniel's tailoring is not the cheapest around, but you will love the work he does! Try and give him at least a week for job completion as he tends to be busy all of the time. You will not be dissapointed in his work! more

Daniel does some of the best tailoring that I have seen, but he never has his things done on time. I almost stopped going here becasue of the hassle he has caused me by not finishing his work on time. more

If are on a deadline or want an inexpensive job this is not your place. However, if you have the time to be flexible and want quality, this is the place for you! more
