Basically, I have only been living in the city for about a year and a half. I moved from the mid-west and was so used to just getting the same old cut, but when I moved out to NY I found that everyone is so Mod, Chic, and well, very Fashionable. So I started to try out different salons in the city and yes I achieved a look, but it wasn't my own New York look. I came across DEX actually on this site and decided to make an appointment for a haircut. If you are looking for an amazing beauty experience in a great atmosphere you ought to check out DEX New York. I went there on a fluke for the first time a month ago during my lunch break looking for a place that will do a quick glamour blowout. The moment I walked in all attention was on me; which is rare these days when your shopping for something you really need right way. Felix the front desk guy was so gracious. I told him that I was on my lunch break and I had very little time. He introduced me to Scott, who assured me that I would be done in 20 minutes, so I said yes. Scott did an amazing job. He also advised me on taking care of my hair, and suggested a product that I should use on my hair to keep it shiny and not frizzy. Very cool place. A win win for me. I have lived in NYC for a long time now and I have been to many hair salons but Naomi at DEX New York is without a doubt the BEST STYLIST I'VE EVER HAD!! He is friendly, warm, attentive, caring, asked all the right questions, and always gives me the BEST HAIRCUT, COLOR, and STYLE. In general the service is impeccable. They offer complimentary wine, beer, coffee, tea, and healthy snacks with your service. It's like being at your own private beauty oasis. It's more than just a salon, it's also a makeup studio comprised of their own exclusive makeup line called DEX Modern Minerals. All the stylists there work on fashion and beauty shoots with models and celebrities. I HIGHLY SUGGEST to anyone looking for a Talented and Caring team of stylists to check out DEX New York. so I was walking around the fashion District and saw this amazing space walked in and found out it was a salon, makeup artistry , and photography studio. I booked and appointment for a blowdry just to check it out. Well it was great so I booked for my color and cut. I could not be more satisfied with the results. Finally a nice salon with a great atmosphere and amazing hair and make-up services. Never used mineral make-up before but now I, the minimalist, am hooked. Thanks to everyone at Dex I found my new go to place. Pros: Everything! Cons: None! more
