Renting from dan diller was the worst experience of my life. He would barge into out apartment without any prior notice which is highly illegal. I was home for one occasion and yes I am a woman and he physically assaulted me and pushed me to the side. My boyfriend and I proceeded to call the cops. When we met with the cops we were shown a letter that he said he gave us stating he was coming on that date. We were never given a letter. Also, a pipe broke in our house in the basement. When we refused to pay the $850 bill he took us to court. The incident fell under his responsibility. In the end the court ruled in our favor. We moved out and Dan is still stuck with his crappy apartment. I would suggest never renting from him, especially if you're a girl. He will harass you and possibly assault you! more

I rented a home in Lancaster from Dan in 2005-2007, along with two other house-mates. Overall, I was happy with the experience and wished I still rented from him. When we had problems with the house, which was fairly seldom, I would call Dan and the problem would generally be fixed promptly. I never witnessed any of the ""irrational behavior"" or outbursts, and would generally describe him as friendly.\r \r We paid our rent on time, didn't hassle him over minor problems, and didn't trash the place (aside from two holes put in the wall). When we left, we got our full security deposit back, despite the damage to the walls. I've never had a landlord NOT nickel-and-dime my security deposit, so that was great.\r \r I can't attest to what Dan is like if you're not paying your rent on time or have other problems, but I would take the other reviews on this page with a grain of salt. more

This guy is just the worst. A friend and I by coincidence rented separate apartments from Dan and though we both had less-than-stellar experiences, my friend got the worst of it: He was completely unresponsive to a pest problem in the apartment and ignored repeated requests to fix an outside lock - rendering the apartment unsafe. My friend was also once on the receiving end of one of his irrational rages after accidentally getting locked out of the apartment, in which Dan threatened to call the police. He never responds to service requests, even for things that impact daily life or safety. He is unbelievably condescending to tenants, especially women, and if you ever cross him on a bad day be prepared for an irrational firestorm. It's possible to stay on Dan's good side - if you never have a request to make of him and never have a problem with your apartment. Unfortunately, given his careless attitude toward maintenance, this is unlikely to be the case. more

Oh my word! We thought we were the only folks who have had a horrendous experience with this person and his company! I guess some people believe that they can treat other people like garbage because it is their ""family"" business and they have money! Well, newsflash, our family has been here for quite some time as well, in the legal community, and our experience was unbelievably unpleasant and unprofessional! Can we say ""a nice legal action may be in order"" to address the disgraceful, quite possibly, illegal behavior of this individual. Yes, Remax and Prudential are highly reputable organizations, however, Wolf Kline and Alan Cherkin are also excellent realtors, if you are looking for a private property to rent for your daughter and grandkids. This ""gentleman - Dan Diller,"" and I use the term ""gentleman"" loosely, is more than unprofessional, he is outright RUDE! First, he would never provide a definitive date nor time to meet to review one of his listed properties for rent. Then, he set up an ""appointment"" to show the said property to my daughter with an ""approximate time"" for which he assumed was a good enough time period in which he could reach the property (with the knowledge that errands had to be completed on my daughter's part, prior to meeting with him) to briefly show her said property. My daughter, unfortunately, was held up in traffic (an unforseen, unavoidable hassle all of us hardworking folks can relate to, especially during rush hour) and was racing to meet this ""man"" for a meeting she had been trying to secure FOREVER, and with NO clearly scheduled time - his doing), only to have him abruptly call her, as she was dialing him to tell him of the traffic she was stuck in, and have him so obnoxiously state ""I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU FOR ALMOST 10 WHOLE MINUTES, YOU STOOD ME UP AND, THEREFORE, I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO SHOW YOU THE PROPERTY!!!"" He proceeded to rudely hang up on my daughter, much to her awe, disbelief and dismay. I would like to think that people are nicer than such, however, I guess not! I am certain he would have NEVER spoken that way to another ""man!"" Oh well, because of his igorance and obnoxious behavior, he did not get the chance to learn that my husband and I were going to pay 3 months rent in advance for our daughter/grandkids, as well as a security deposit. His loss! So, beware, rude, impatient, and extremely UNPROFESSIONAL! We all have busy lives, perhaps if he had stopped to properly set up a date and time, and to treat a potential client and possible future /buyer with the respect and courtesy I am certain he would expect for himself/family, he would have been kinder and definitely more professional! \r I have been told to go with ReMax or Prudential.
