I recently treated my parents (from Rochester) to a night on the town in the ""big city,"" for Christmas, so of course I took them to dinner at Chambers Kitchen! From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty; the hosts and servers were so incredibly warm and prompt. I definitely recommend going the full nine-yards with each person ordering their own appetizer, entree, and dessert (that way you can sample a lot of the menu items!). The portions are just right so that you feel indulged, but not stuffed by the end of the meal. (Not to mention the desserts are the best I have ever had in my life!) We all chose our own courses, the Chicken Samosas, Rice-Cracker Crusted Tuna, and Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp for appetizers. I had the Roasted Chicken for dinner (my parents had the Sea Bass and the Halibut), and you would think that it would be impossible to make chicken anything special, but it was served with long beans and the most delicious broth. For dessert we had the lemon tart, cheesecake and chocolate cake, and it was a close race between the lemon & cheesecake, but the cheesecake was the best I have ever had; it was so light and combined with tangerine sorbet. I recommend making an early reservation and then going to a show afterwards, since Chambers is located right in the Theatre District. (We went to the Nutcracker at the State Theater after dinner)
Pros: Dessert, Service, Timing of Food Delivery, Ambience
Cons: Need to make reservations for Sat. Night well in advance to get prime time
