DAMERON IS GETTING BETTER 1/6/2011

I went to visit a freind at Dameron. I had a bad experience in the past so I was not hopeful. But when I got there, A Director or Manager came to help me and my wife. He runs the unit where my friend was. it was December 24 and I was even surprised that someone from Management was there. I think his name was Raymon or something but anyways, he was great. He took us to the room ont he 4th floor and asked if he can do antying for us. more

Steer clear of a family owned hospital 8/15/2010

As an old nurse, the place needs new leadership. The CEO and COO run it like a mob family business. It is amazing they have lasted this long bullying nurses, doctors and anyone who disagrees with the ignorant backward ways. There are some good nurses and doctors there, but I am glad to retire. more

dameron hospital nurses... 8/2/2010

(incident 11/2008)when i got there it was quick but one of the nurse is nice i forgot her name.. but one thing i didnt like was about all the nurse who came and check up on me they didnt even ask me if i was ok or check if i was dialect... i was crying and crying for help but they wouldnt come.. all of the sudden they heard me cry and walk in my room and ask me was i the one crying and my husband was like yes she is in pain and for them give me medication they say yes and took them forever... it seems like they dont care... when i was drowsy from the medication they give me they never check me if i was dialect.. i also took epidural and also never came check on me or my cervix.. at 8 20 in the morning my son head was already out before dr gentry vu came in my room to check on me if i was dialect he was shock that my son was out already and they did a emergency act on it... after having my son they ignore my numbness i kept telling them im numb and cant feel my body and for then to hel more

Dameron Hospital isnt all that great for infants. 9/28/2009

i heard a lot about dameron h. from past patient from labor and postpartum. but my doctor (Dr.gentry vu; who i would rate as a beyond 5 start ob/gyn along with his great team) recommend that i deliver my baby there because they had an on site epidural doc. in case i wasn't able to handle the induce labor. (31 hours before i had my son) so i ended up with an epidural. but anways from the labor to the delivery was awesome, i had a great ob doctor. and niece nurses. from then till i was in postpartum. but due to my son having jaundice he ended up staying an extra three days in the hospital on the second floor in the children nursery, now thats where i had a really bad experience. the nurses down there didnt care at all, the checked on my son about four times to check his temp. about other then that its nothing to them. me and my husband stayed but day and night. believe it or not. to make sure his foam glasses wasnt coming off. its sad i sept my time there crying. there was a point where more

Dameron Hospital is great 7/31/2009

I was looking for a job at dameron hospital. I was waiting in the lobby and everyone was very helpful. I observed that people cared about one another...even a manager stopped to help me find my way. I asked him where the cafeteria was and instead of just pointing me towards where the cafeteria was, he walked me to it. I cant remember his name but I think his name starts with an R and he is a new manager on the heart floor, i think. more

dameron, like many of the area hospitals has its challenges. I was at his hospital 3 or 4 years ago and man, it has changed a lot.\r I hear that there's a new management team. well, whatever they're doing, it is working. my stay in 2main, was much better, more

Dameron Hospital is AWESOME! 7/10/2009

I brought my mom to Dameron Hospital last week. I heard bad things about Dameron in the past, but this visit was far from horrible. People were nice and they have a new Manager in the Heart Floor, he was very compassionate. He spent time with me and my mom and made us feel welcome. He came in my moms room and introduced himself and spent some time with us. he was very professional and funny. He made us feel at home. We would definitely go back. He was great! more

Renee, Dameron hospital is a good one. if u go to any ER u will have to wait, they call in the most severe cases FIRST!!! and all hospital;s have a time where they hang up on people. they could have had a real emergency! more

Dameron Hospital is a joke! 11/15/2008

My mom has been in Dameron several times. Each time she has had to wait 6 to 12 hours in the ER before getting to a room. She has sever food algeries and she still received the wrong food. When we have called to see how she is doing we have been hung up on! Don't go to Dameron. They even lost her only pair of glasses. Kaiser needs to stop using Dameron Hospital as their associate. Dameron is giving Kaiser a bad name. Can we give a rating lower than unsatisfactory??????? more

mistreated 12/5/2006

During my stay at dameron hosipital i was treated un fairly. workers were very rude to me and the E.R. Doctor. i was trying to tell them my symtoms but they would'nt listen to me even the Emt's did'nt listen. I was having chest pains and i could'nt breath!When i told the Doctor i had to vomit he did'nt even give me a bucket. The nurse did'nt even give me a call light when i was in pain and diffculty breathing. When they finally came they push me so hard to the right and gave me a shot in my rear. They reveiwed the tests and said i was ok. When they discharge me they didn't even put me in the wheelchair to get to my aunt's car. when the nurse and the doctor came in they said i was ok . i told them that i was'nt ok. they took my vital sign equipment off me like waxing eyebrow. i was so upset the way they treated me. due to my knowlegde of being a Certified nurse asstaint i knew i was treated wrong. more

No compassion for Moms 11/2/2005

I had my daughter at Dameron Hospital and would not recommend their labor and delivery department. I had a lot of complications with my pregancy and had several trips to the hospital. Each time, I was treated as I was a bother. I was told at one time not come in next time to just go to my local hospital (who do not take my insurance). Finally when I came in in labor they did not believe me. The nurse told the dr. sarcasically "she thinks her water broke". I was in tremendous pain but was worried that they would not believe me. It wasn't until after the delivery that she tried to apologize to me for her condesending attitude. This is not a compassionate hospital for women to deliver their babies. They need to teach the nurses some bedside manner. more

Great for general needs 9/5/2005

Dameron Hospital is a great hospital for general needs. I have never had to wait longer than a half hour in the emergancy room. Hospital stays are as pleasant as possible. I would not recommend Dameron Hospital for labor and delivery. I had a lot of complications and was discharged. Luckily, I knew I was having problems and refused to go home. Had I not refused, my baby and I probably would not have lived. The staff in the nursery and NICU are friendly and the lactation consultants are great! PROS: Great for emergancy and general needs CONS: Horrible Labor and Delivery more
