Rocky mountain ob-gyn staff issues-I 3/8/2012

Rocky mountain ob-gyn staff issues-I have to say I love my Doctor first off. I have had several issues from cyst removals to pre cancer cells on my cervix. Dr Fennimore has been there for me thought it all. Recently the practice has replaced all of the support staff from the front desk to nurses. I am not very impresses or happy with this change. Dr Fennimore nurse Nikki is the rudest most unprofessional person you could ever imagine meeting at an OBGYN. She does not let you talk to tell her whats going on nor does she have the answers or know how to help you. Her answer always is well i don't know i will see if the doctor to call you. So why would she talk to you in the first place. I am so unhappy with the way I have been disrespected I am tempted to changes OB's even though I love love love my doctor. The fact of the matter is you have to be comfortable with all of the ob practice not just the doctor. Nikki is cold and every thing is an inconvenience for her. After a procedure i had to call 3 times over the cores of a morning to get anyone to call me back. I also had to talk to the office manager at the Rose location. After talking to her I can see why the front desk and support staff are so rude unprofessional uncaring unsympathetic not understand and frankly don't care about anything then making money. She did not listen and even told me she was going to make comments in my file that because I did not like the conditions she was imposing on my that I was refusing to come in for a check up. Mind you I was having this conversation with Nikkie and the office manger when i was in so much pain I could not even stand up on my own from a cervical scrapping. It took 5 hours of pain and phone calls to make it past the incompetent staff to get to a doctor (who was not mine) who could even remotely help. My advise to any woman looking at this practice love your doctor have thick skin and be willing to be abused by the support staff or don't bother setting up an appointment. To be honest I don't know how much more I can take before I find a new doctor. more

Dr. Jacobson was the TOPS as my OB during my pregnancy!! 11/7/2011

I was new pretty new to the Denver area when I got married and pregnant with my first child. Virtually all my friends who lived in the Denver Metro area went to Rocky Mntn OB-Gyn throughout their pregnant years and beyond so I felt very comfortable choosing to be a patient there. Also, their location could not be better as they are right across the street from Rose Hospital, the best hospital by FAR for childbirth in my opinion. I polled my friends and there were a few doctors that were the favorites, but I chose Dr. DANIEL JACOBSON because he got the most consistently positive reviews by everyone(!). I cannot say enough good things about him!! He is so calm and calmING, listens really well and is very thorough in answering questions. He speaks to you in a way that makes you feel you can go ahead and ask the hard, embarrassing questions without worrying about being judged for an instant. You always feel you are in good hands with someone who really cares about you and your unborn child. I also was dealing with frightening chronic pain that had not been diagnosed or treated successfully and he was able to provide me with the name of a service that provides baby nurses to help with my infant's care early on which proved to be tremendously helpful!! (This was about 5 years ago so I don't know if the service still exists...) HE IS THE TOPS, HANDS DOWN!!!!!! more

Their time is SO much more important than yours - or you. 10/17/2011

If I could give zero stars I would. I got a complete runaround trying to get into see Dr. D'Ambrosia, which ended up with no appointment and a LOT of wasted time. Trying to get an appointment in June, no one from their office would ever call me back after I had left 4 different messages. By the time I got through they could only get an appointment for JANUARY 2012. Now 6 months seemed excessive to me, but I thought if I'm going to see a good doctor I guess that's what I'll have to do. ""Luckily"" there was a cancellation and they moved my appointment up to October. I explained that I have extreme panic attacks and would be coming medicated (Ativan & Valium) just so I could tolerate the exam. They told me that it was an average 45 minutes from the time of my appointment until I would likely see their doctor. So forward to today - the day of my appointment. We had to wait for grandma to come and babysit our 2 year old, and then my husband and I headed down to Denver (from Highlands Ranch) for the appointment. There was no parking, and by the time we got up to Rocky Mtn OB/GYN's office I was now 15 minutes late. The receptionists didn't seem to care that we had problems locating the office - they were overbooked already. After 20 minutes of talking to the nurses/doctor/whoever they called me up to tell me they would need to reschedule - to AFTER JANUARY!!! YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING! We ended up driving a total of 1.5 hours for this appointment, my husband had to take time off because I can't drive on anxiety medication, and now I have to start from scratch. Dr. D'Ambrosia may be a great doctor, but I will NEVER find out because I don't think this is how a doctor should run their business. Sometimes things get in the way and the world doesn't run like clockwork. I accepted a 45 minute delay from their office, they couldn't accept a 15 minute delay from a new patient that has issues getting to a GYN in the first place. Guess numbers speak more than the individuals in their practice. Overbooking doesn't help ANYONE, just gets more people/copays/insurance claims in. I can't tell you how disappointed, frustrated, angry, and hurt I feel by my whole experience with Rocky Mtn OB/GYN. more

Awesome Doctor! 1/30/2011

I've been seeing Dr D'Ambrosia for 8 years and she helped me through two pregnancies (one was a difficult pregnancy which required a C-Section). I saw many of the doctors at Rocky Mtn OBGYN and they were all good but Dr D'Ambrosia was exceptional. She is thorough but caring and remembers small details even though I only see her once a year. more

Great Women's Care 12/28/2009

I've been a patient at Rocky Mtn OBGYN for 4 years--two pregnancies and general Women's Care--and I have always been very impressed and pleased with the care they provide. Dr. D'Ambrosia is my primary physician and she makes us feel like friends--greets us with hugs, listens to our concerns and always provides excellent care and advice. Dr. Zall and Dr. Jacobson are also fabulous and I would recommend either of them if you are considering this practice (not sure Dr. D is taking new patients). Donna, the ultrasound tech, is very nice and very informative. I just can't say enough about the doctors and the staff at Rocky Mtn OBGYN--would definitely recommend either office (Rose or Sky Ridge). Pros: Physicians more

Love Dr. D'Ambrosia 8/25/2009

I have been a patient of Dr. D'Ambrosia for 6 years. Even though she is very busy, she makes the time to get to know her patients and listens. During my pregnancy, I saw all the docs knowing that any one might be on call. Dr. D ended up being on call that day which was great because I needed an unplanned c-section and she made me feel much better about the experience. The Sky Ridge office is great and Dr. Miller is typically available. I always got in when I needed to and saw a Dr. each appointment. They always called me back when I had a concern (though it is the nurse who you will talk to). Pros: Caring, Responsive Cons: Very Busy more

Would Recommend Redd (NP) to Anyone! 5/3/2009

I absolutely love Redd! I'm 33 and have been seeing Redd since I was 18. She truly cares about all of my concerns, no matter how silly some of them may sound. The one thing I love the most is her straight forward, tell-you-like-it-is personality, with a southern charm. I would and do recommend her to anyone! more

Very Pleased !!! Dr Jacobson 4/14/2009

Excellent doctor. Thorough and listened carefully to my concerns. I felt like I received top knotch care, Would highly recommend. Pros: excellent doctor more

JEAN DWINNELL 4/14/2009

I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH MY APPT. THE STAFF AT THE FRONT WERE VERY HELPFUL. I FELT MY CONCERNS AND QUESTION WERE ANSWERED BY MA AND PHYSICAN I SEEN. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE. more

Wonderful, caring, kind people/OBGYN 3/6/2009

This office is wonderful. Not only is it centrally located, it is easy to find, and the staff if very friendly, thorough, and helpful. Cynthia ""Redd"" Rogers is my obgyn, and she is FABULOUS! I have been going to her for 7+ years now and she is amazing. Very outgoing and knowledgeable. If she is not available when I am, I change my schedule so I can get in to see her. I have nothing but positive things to say about Redd, and Rocky Mountain OB-GYN. Pros: best gyno in Colorado Cons: must make your annual way in advance, they stay very busy more

Disappointed in Rocky Mountain OB-GYN 1/13/2009

Sadly, Rocky Mountain OB-GYN is not the same practice it was years ago. It has become corporate and fractured. They are apparently so busy they cannot be responsive. I took my high school daughter there in December for help with incapacitating menstrual cramps, cramps so severe and prolonged that they keep her from being able to go to school, sometimes for days. Seasonique was prescribed, but under the advice it would take 2 months to see if it would work. When the next period came on as we started finals week, my daughter was again wracked with sustained incapacitating cramps that make it impossible for her to go to school. I find that I can't have a consistent conversation with the prescribing provider, and messages don't get to her or her assistant and they don't call back. The staff people make assumptions and are condescending. They can't work her in for an appointment and just tell me that I should take her to the ER. Although painful, this is not a matter for an ultrasound in the office that probably should have been set up after the first visit, and appropriate pain control in the interim. I am switching practices. more

Great Doctors! 1/12/2009

These are wonderful doctors. They took care of me during both of my pregnancies and were great. The listened to my needs and made me feel safe. They were very accessible and patient in answering my questions. I would recommend them without any reservation. Pros: Great doctors, very patient more

GREAT OFFICE!!! 12/4/2008

I have been a pt of this office for several years for both gyn and ob care. I have found no problem with my care. I can understand if you are set on seeing one doc thru ob care that you would be disappointed, however it has always been clearly stated that none of the docs at this practice ""special"" any pts for delivery. If that is the type of experience you are looking for you might try to find a midwife. If you are looking for a shorter wait time I would highly recommend not seeing Dr Dix she is an excellant doctor but ALWAYS behind (at least by an hour) and seems to have a harder time returning calls. I have had no problem with any other provider. \r The front has always been nice compared to any other office I've gone with the volume of pts they see. There are times that you do have to hold awhile when calling during high volume times, but it is still nice to talk to a real person rather than a machine. If the hold time is an issue, I would suggest calling not first thing in the morning or right after lunch.\r all and all great staff, great docs.... Pros: many docs to choose from for every personality more

Crazy Experience 4/8/2008

This is my second pregnancy and this office was given to me by my primary health care doctor as a reference. during my first visit, the staff was completely unprofessional and to top if off the doctor started asking me personal questions during my pelvic exam. I was completely appalled that he would use the client/patient power differential as a way to get statistical information. After this horrible experience I would never recommend this office to anyone under any circumstances. more

Bad experience. 3/20/2008

I was seeing Dr. Dwinell whom I really liked, and who I think is a really great doctor. When I got pregnant they told me she was out of town and scheduled me with a different doc. I assumed I would have Dr. Dwinell as my primary doctor for my pregnancy. I was wrong! They assigned me to a different doctor who I found to be hurried and unsympathetic to my concerns. The sonographer was cold and only interested in using her new machine. It was an awful experience. I would never go back there. more

Horrible experience 4/24/2007

I am 15 weeks pregnant and switching OB drs mid way through my pregnancy. That should say a lot since this is my second child and my first was delivered with this office. However, my primary doctor has moved. The office staff is completely rude and unhelpful and unless you specifically request to see a DR they set you up with an even ruder nurse practictioner (who has absolutely no bedside manner). I have had some complications with this pregnancy and this doctor asked to have some test done and run through the lab. The vials she gave me were over a year old and rejected by the lab office (and she forgot to give me the paperwork). I had to do it all over again after waiting around an hour in their office. Then I had to call three times to get the results. They never return phone calls with questions. They have screwed up my prescriptions more than once. They are always running an hour behind (and I have even called to see if I should arrive on time - of course they say yes) but wait in the waiting room an hour. I actually believe that I am not getting adequate care and I could have a case for gross negligence. I would HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere!!! more
