I am in the media (newspaper) business. One of the companies that I worked for owned newspapers across the U.S. Over my career, I have moved 12 times. In each of those moves, we would get recommendations from local people, my company's H.R. department, etc. to find a good moving company to move us to the next destination. One reason we did that is because we never had a really good move. And, we were in search of a company that truly gave great service. In our previos moves, we had things go missing (my wife's birth bassinet, which had been used in the family for years), we had things damaged or broken, promises not kept, delays in receiving furniture and a myriad of other issues. We are very easy-going people, we are not demanding nor are we perfectionists, but we just did not have good moving experiences. We have used most of the major moving companies over the last 30 years. Our entire perspective changed last July, when we chose Dale Cook Moving & Storage to move us from John's Island, S.C. to Sunset, S. C. (from the coast to the mountains in the upstate) We again did what we had in the past, we asked people to give us recommendations for movers. The realtor who sold our home in Charleston, suggested Dale Cook Moving and Storage. She either said that she had heard good things about them. My wife called them, they came out to our home immediately, and their representative, Cornee Yountz, was so knowlegeable, helpful, and kind that we made a decison on the spot, to give them our business without talking to another mover. My wife and I have always been guided by our instincts and we felt good about Cornee from the outset, and the company she represented. It turned out to be the best thing we ever did and was the best move we ever made. From the packers who took great care wrapping and protecting our china, pictures, etc., to the folks who loaded the truck to their driver, Michael, who directed the loading, drove the truck and directed the unloading, everything was absolutely perfect! MIchael and his team were very efficient, courteous and kind. When they were finished unloading after a grueling day in the hot sun (it was in July), they stayed to help us put our furniture exactly where we wanted it. They moved dressers again, helped stack boxes to our satisfaction etc. We had moved into a rental house that we were going to live in for a year while our home close by, was being built. At the end of the day, they all had to be exhausted, but Michael, the driver, (who is outstanding), insisted on going out to the garage with me to arrange and stack boxes(we were only going to unpack essentials). He wanted me to be able to fit my cars in the garage, and he wanted me to have access to things that I might need later. He will never know, how much that small gesture meant to me, to have my garage neat enough to get cars into it. We were so pleased with Dale Cook Moving & Storage, that when our new home was complete about 11 months later, we called Cornee Yountz, again, and asked her if they ( Dale Cook Moving & Storage) would consider coming up to Lake Keowee (near Greenville, S. C.) and moving us into our new home. They agreed to do it and once again, we had another perfect move. Michael again drove the truck, supervised the crew, and once again, they did a flawless job. They even went around the new house with my wife and I, room-to-room, to move things to insure that furniture, boxes, etc. were where we wanted them. I have never had a moving company even come close to their level of customer service! In fact, we have another home in Augusta, Georgia, and when we sell it, we will be calling Cornee, at Dale Cook Moving & Storage once again.. They are absolutely the best movers, hands down!!!!!
