My life has drastically changed for the better since I joined Dahn yoga last year. I have suffered from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome fro many years and have been unable to work for the past five years. I thought that I would spend the rest of my life fighting the cycles of pain and fatigue and that there was no way I would ever go back to work. After starting yoga, I initially enjoyed the stretching, breathing and relaxation exercises. Within a few months, I found that I had gained not only flexibilty, but also strength. I have been through a truly remarkable transformation. The special classes that I took helped to heal my deep seated emotional wounds and made me realize my potential. I learned to love myself and to take care of myself first. I found out that I was strong and that I just thought I was weak. I recently went back to work part time, doing what I love and have been able to keep up with the stresses of starting to work again without having a flare-up. UNBELIEVABLE! I am not the same person I was when I first walked into the center. For those who have negative things to say, I have to admit, that yes many of the programs are expensive. But are you going to invest your money in medication and doctors who don't really have the answers or are you willing to sacrifice and do the ""work"" of healing your mind and your body? Are you open to ideas that are foreign and maybe uncomfortable or are you going to stay in the same rut you're in? The masters are all wonderful. They truly care about you. When I come into the center, I feel like I'm leaving the world behind and entering a place of healing, acceptance, warmth and love. It's truly a very special place, filled with sincere and caring masters and members. I urge you to talk to someone who has been in the program longer than 6 months and find out how the Dahn center has helped them to personally grow. If you have fibromyalgia or know someone with it, pass this story on to them.
