Rude! First of all, this is the first time EVER in my life that I have actually taken the time to write a bad review. This place refused to refund my money after my husband prepaid for a service that I chose not to get. They said they would give me store credit. Then when I decided to use the store credit to buy my daughter some nice OPI nail polish, AFTER she picked it out they told me I could only use it for a ""service"". If they want to earn business this is not the way to do it. It's MY money they have and I should be able to use it how I choose! Ridiculous! more

I love David the Salon. With these reviews, people need to understand that everyone has a different experience and not to judge it based someone else's experience. It might have been a busy day that day, or outside factors. I understand first impressions are important, but they aren't everything. If you had a bad experience, instead of criticism and negativity, try suggesting what you would like to see different. Dont be surprised that the workers and other clients at the salon read these comments. more

Thanks to each of you for your reviewing David the Salon. Your input helped me from making the same mistake. My intuition was not to go when I called the salon and learned they carried only one product line. I was looking for a well-known and fine quality product and the person who answered the phone had never heard of it. I'm going to find Abby - his loss, our gain! more

Talk about bad attitude... David made me wait for twenty min before taking me back. Didn't even say sorry or nothing. Way over price to put up with a grumpy stylist. more

I have been a client at David the Salon for several years. It is a great place. I have always gone to Abby- she is incredibly talented. Not only does she do amazing hair- but she makes the experience fun and she is enjoyable to talk to. Although I have always been a loyal client of David the Salon- I got a phone call the other day that Abby had left David's. I am going to follow Abby to her new place-- called Abigail's Salon. If you are looking for a great hair stylist- I definitely recommend Abby- she is fabulous! :) more

David the Salon is the best I have found in town and I am very picky about how my hair is cut. It is naturally curly and very hard to style. Abby cuts my hair and I have never been with a stylist as long as I have with her. I change my hair style like some people change their underware (okay, maybe not that much), but she always listens to me and does what I ask. I have seen David's work and have never seen anyone with a bad cut because he takes so much precision in cutting his client's hair. David is also supportive of the arts in the community. Also, I have never seen anyone have to wait for any extended amount of time. I could go on forever, but I would recommend David the Salon to anyone. more

What a disappointment! They kept me waiting for about half an hour. My appointment was with David and he didn't come tell me that he was running late. Another stylist gave me a shampoo and put me in a chair and said David will be right back. I sat there for more than 20 minutes with wet hair and waited for "Mr. David the Salon" to show up. He finally showed up and cut my hair with an attitude as if "hey you are here, so I need to do something." The phone was ringing constantly and each time he asked one of the stylists (who were busy with other customers) to get the phone. The girl who works in the reception desk all of a sudden disappeared. I felt this is a place for "suckers" and totally over-rated. After my haircut was done, Mr. David announced how much his time is worth - it was a shocking $48 (without the tip). Please stay away from places like this. Find a place which truly gives you attention and values you as a customer. more

I recently went to many salons in columbia. I visited the strand and trusted three different stylst. all of them could not fix my hair which was a simple blonde highlight. i finally stoped caring about where i went in this town and tried to do my hair for myself. when i realized that didnt work i visited david the salon. my mom has been going here for years and decided to try abby. i will never go to anybody but abby until i find some sort of goddess in the sky who could do my hair the best--which wont happen. more

I moved to the area in 2006 and am very picky with my hair. I made an appointment with Abby as a recommendation. She has been cutting my hair ever since. The service is spectacular and the passion for cutting hair and keeping with trends is very evident in the number settings these professionals accomplish daily. They also have numerous stylings published in hair books. more

David's is more expensive than what I was used to, but the results are nothing short of spectacular. Gina's artistry makes me feel young, professional and beautiful. I will never go anywhere else. more

I also had Gina as a stylist, and she was terrible. I have no idea what the other reviewers are talking about, because she doesn't keep up with current trends at all. I brought pictures to show her, and the end product looked nothing like the pictures. When it was time to pay, I gave her a very generous tip (more than she deserved for the quality of the haircut), and she didn't even say thank you or come back...nothing. The people at this salon were very rude - I wasn't greeted (or spoken to at all) for the first 10 minutes I was there. The place looked run down, even though it had been remodeled. Avoid this rip-off at all costs. more

The David Salon is a little more expensive but well worth it. I took my teenage daughter there for her birthday to get her first coloring and it turned out wonderful. I was worried she would look like a skunk because her hair is so dark and she wanted light highlights in it. But Gina, the hairdresser, knew what she was doing and explained to us everything she was doing, every step of the way. Then she cut her hair to match the photo my daughter found and my daughter was so happy with what Gina had done.\r I would recommend The David Salon to everyone and anyone. They take additional training a couple of times a year to keep up with the latest trends and that?s a great idea. PROS: Great people working there. Really care about your hair. CONS: Could have longer hours. more

David the Salon, conveniently located in the Gerbes Shopping center on Broadway, is a full service salon offering everything from waxes to nails to hair care. They have cuts, color and styling, all of which are available for a slightly higher fee than some of their competitors. The Salon has been recently been redecorated to keep up with the times. The Salon is clean and well taken care of, and the stylists are all good at what they do. more
