D & W Fresh Markets

Since they changed their products to Spartan brand we don't like to go there as we used to. Not that we don't like the brand, but the whole quality of the store and employees seems to have changed. Their fruits and vegetables in the fresh produce department has been over ripe and almost old, it was not clean and they were out of most of the things I was looking for, especially items on sale. This happened a few times to me now. They do offer great sushi and fish or seafood but it comes at a high price. Their breads and baked goods are great tasting but also not cheap. We used to buy in bulk when they had great sounding sales, but after adding up what you actually get for your money we don't fall for it anymore. For example they advertise "buy 1lb turkey, get 1lb free" but they don't tell you that they doubled the price per pound, so you're not getting a deal at all. Same happened to us with their frozen chicken offers and others. more

I enjoy going to D&W for specialty foods because it still a full service grocery store but has many specialties as well. They have a wonderful bakery, an amazing seafood department that includes sushi and a great deli with wonderful salads, etc. They have a large wine and beer selection that includes some of the local brews. They also run excellent sales making the store an even sweeter deal! more
