Judge for yourself. Here are successive complaints sent to CVS Pharmacy Customer Service over a few hours yesterday (not replied to so far):
5.55pm: Today, as my wife was being discharged from Washington Hospital, the doctor there faxed over the oral antibiotic prescriptions over to the above store for continuation of the IV antibiotics she had been receiving. I went there personally at 12.30 after noon and spoke to the sales person (an Asian girl) who said ""The Pharmacist is on lunch...please come back at 1.30."" On being questioned, she went inside, double-checked and confirmed the doctor's fax had been received. So I went to the store at 5.20pm and the entire staff can't even find the faxed prescription anymore. I am going to sue you guys for utter incompetency. you need to get your act together --- health is not a laughing matter. If you cannot do your job sincerely, sell furniture, not medicines. Shameful.
6.59pm: A short time ago the pharmacist finally left a message for me that ""two of your medicines were covered by insurance and two were not."" No further details!! I called back in 10 minutes (just now) and a lady called ""Elizabeth"" repeatedly insists that the pharmacist is ""out for lunch."" I said who has lunch at this time? She insists ""It is 6.54pm and the pharmacist is out for lunch."" Not even the courtesy of telling me when to call back. I hung up after telling her I will complain to CVS customer service.
7.26pm: I once again called about 10 minutes ago. The lady Elizabeth again came one. I asked several questions, to which replies were received as follows
a) Is your Pharmacist still out for lunch??
Answer: Yes
b) Do you know when he will be back??
Answer: No idea
c) Is there a substitute when he is gone??
Answer: No that is it
d) Does he really have lunch at 7pm or is it dinner??
Answer: It is lunch. They have an 8 hour shift so they take lunch whenever they like
e) So what should I do?
Answer: You can leave a message for him
f) OK, tell him I am Sanjay ******** and I have already written twice to CVS customer service. Tell him I think he is completely incompetent and I hope he gets fired.
Now, in the long run, I hope you guys are sensible enough to realize we all have the same interests --- I want reasonably good service, especially when it comes to health matters, and so do you, if for no reason other than getting sued and having to fork out millions for sheer negligence. If something happens to my wife, I will hold CVS complicit from this point on --- since you have been informed.
