Curran & Co

Despite the less than spectacular reputation that Curran had around town, we decided to risk it and rent from them. It was well worth the risk! Staff were courteous, friendly, and professional. Requests from us were responded to almost exclusively the day of, and hardware/appliance fixes were handled professionally (no slapping duct tape on a leaky pipe and calling it good). Grounds were well maintained as well. \r \r Curran also worked with us to resolve a particularly sticky tenant situation, which was a godsend. In the end we got our full deposit back. If I didn't need to relocate for graduate school, we would definitely still be renting from them, and will seek them out in the future. more

I have lived in the Cedarville Townhomes for a little over 3 years. The staff is professional and friendly. My few maintenance requests were resolved quickly and in one visit. Grounds are neat and clean. Snow removal is prompt and efficent. The Townhomes are pet friendly, something that is increasingly hard to find. Prospective tenants are screened to ensure your new neighbors dont live like animals right next door to you. If you want to live cheaper in Marquette, you can do that, no problem. But you get what you pay for. Prior to living here, I had a place on 3rd St. in town. Drunks kept me up all night. The nieghboring rental properties were dirty, unkempt dumps full of drunk NMU students. So, all in all, so far Curran & Co. is doing right by me! more

I would NEVER recommend someone from renting from Curran and Company, they are a nightmare. Everybody is nice when you are in the signing the lease process, but after that it is all downhill. I went into the office one day to pay my rent, and Melissa (owner) told me that I had late fees and lockout fees that I had to pay. 1. My roommate or myself were NEVER locked out 2. Got Melissa to take the fee off and even signed the paper for me to say that it was off 3. I wrote a check for the other "co-called" late fees, but needless to say, when we moved out.. all of the fees were still all there!!! Does not add up.. I don't know why but for some reason they expect their apartments to look the same from time to time... Im sorry but after several years, an apartment is gradually going to look worse and worse (you are not going to be able to keep the brand new look forever) for some reason, they think this. Also, if you decide to rent from them, make sure you mark down every single little thing more

I rented from Curran & Co. about a year ago and lived in the Cedarville Townhomes. From signing a lease to the checkout process, renting from them was easy. Their policies are clearly stated in the lease so there were no misunderstandings of fees, rules, or restrictions. Their rates are reasonable for their new and updated units, compared to old house in Marquette. They took care of any maintenance I had, in a timely fashion too! I would not only recommend renting from them, but I would also rent from them again. more

I had a really difficult time living here. The landlords seemed really nice when I first moved in, but it seemed to take a turn for the worse once I signed the lease. After I had already moved in people started telling me about all the problems that they had with the same landlords. They were really difficult to talk to and not understanding. I wish I would have known their reputation before moving in. more

When I moved into my apartment that is owned by Curran and Company, several people told me they had heard bad things about the company. I however have had a much different experience. They are always willing to help and are very friendly. My landlord even drove into town to let me into my place when I locked myself out-on Father's Day, no less. more
