The experience I had with the hotel was a very bad one. I also researched the hotel after my bad experience and found that this has happened to several people.
Over a three week period, me and my husband called three times to ask about availability and prices of a room on Friday & Saturday June 18th and 19th at Crystal Palace Hotel. Each time, the owner answered and told us $59.99 so the third time we called we made reservations. There was not a confirmation in any way that he could provide, ie email receipt of the reservation, etc. When we got there, the place was disgusting, dirty, and smelled very foul. The wife of the owner called her husband when we tried to check in and spoke about something in a different language. We heard her say something about $69.99. When she got off the phone, she told us it would be $69.99 each night. We explained that when we made our reservation we were told it would be $59.99 each night. She argued with us and told it was always $69.99 on Friday and Saturday nights. We said that we called three times and each time we were told $59.99. We also asked her why she had to call her husband to ask the price if it was always $69.99. The owner came in and showed our reservation he had written down. It was on a crumpled up half sheet of notebook paper he pulled out of his pocket. We left because the owner refused to give us the room for the price he told us over the phone. He began yelling at us very loudly and even bucked up to my husband as if he wanted to fight him. It was extremely inappropriate.
Furthermore, the children of the owner were climbing all over the register and counter and everything about it was very unprofessional. We will never try to stay there again. I do not recommend depending on that hotel for somewhere to stay. I feel that the owner is exploiting vacationers.
