I just want to say that recently I had a major problem with my transmission ...I went to crown transmission in Glen Ellyn ...I was Expecting more of the same since I have been screwed by plenty of repair shops in the past!!!Amazingly ...Crown Transmission came thru in my time of need ...They were friendly ,reasonably priced ...and truly a blessing to do business with ...!!!I highly recommend this auto repair shop !!!PLUS PLUS PLUS RATING !!!! more

Absolutely worst repair shop I've ever dealt with. The owner/manager Mike Lies about anything and everything he possibly can to take your money. Nothing out of his mouth is the truth. Had my transmission break in my car, and desperately needed to have it fixed. I am very mechanically inclined but didn't have the time to do it myself and I'm positive that most of the parts that we agreed to replace on this transmission were not replaced. He would not return my old parts, refused to let me anywhere near my car while it was being worked on because they were breaking it in the meantime. was told it would take 2-3 days, but after receiving it I had no 4th gear and Mike tried to tell me it was my problem and there is no way it was his mistake. Prior to having my transmission serviced there, I my brakes were in tip top shape.Their mechanics bent my backing plate and tore my CV boots when installing and removing. My vehicle was jacked up improperly and damage was done to my rocker panels. Not to mention every square inch of my car was covered in oil and dirt and the car was returned with a completely empty tank of gas when it was full when I brought it in there. When promised my vehicle back or a rental to get to work, Mike suddenly disappeared and held my car for 4 more days AFTER payment without a rental car. Beware of this shop! more

BEST SERVICE AROUND! 2/2/2012

I've had work done here before - I had some trans work done on my SUV. That experience was an A+. So that is what made me return to their shop for another repair. Although the repair I needed done had nothing to do with transmission work. Finding an honest repair shop seems to be quite a task. After shopping around for a repair shop that could do the repairs I needed, I was getting scammed in my option to believe there was a lot more wrong with my car than what I initially thought. I decided to bring my car back to Crown Transmission to just ask their opinion on what was wrong with my car. They gave me a FREE scan to tell me the coding that was coming up. All that was needed was a simple exchange of the mass air flow sensor. Not the thousand other things that some of the other shops were stating! They told me that they would do the repair for me if I wanted. They were able to get the part and do the repair in a quick fashion. Once again, another great experience. If you are needing repair work done - do yourself a favor and at least give them a call. They are honest, prices are good, and technicians are knowledgeable and experienced. more
