Eclectic Merchandise 12/1/2009

I didn't find this place as snooty as some of the other reviewers. The staff was a little aloof but nothing that isn't uncommon in this fast pace city. I actually found the store interesting and ecletic and enjoyed looking at some of the one of a kind pieces. Pros: Diversity of Merchandise more

THE MOST UNPLEASANT EMPLOYEE I HAVE EVER EXPEREINCED 11/13/2009

I saw a review before going where one person described the staff as ""Snooty"". I can't think of a better word for the kind of attitude of the blonde woman at the desk for people bringing in clothes to sell. However, ""Snooty"" isn't quite accurate. The employee is offensively (and unnecessarily ... as I was the only person waiting and on 'the list' .... so she couldn't have just been 'having a frantic moment) ""Snooty"" projected outwards. I noticed it immediately and can alway make such a person calm and friendly. I am a super nice guy. This woman seemed to get more upset the longer I patiently waited while she tried to find something to do to 'look busy' when there was none and seemed very disappointed when she finally went to check 'the list' of who was next, and there was nobody on the list, I had already put my name on, and nobody even coming in she could use to re-scrutinize her 'list'. I patiently waited, and despite her repeated 'NOT INTERESTED IN WHAT YOU HAVE' references, I waited and insisted she shift her eyes down and actually look at the very nice clothing I had neatly laid out while she kept me waiting. She never actually looked at the items I had until I held the up, almost forcing her to look, that she glanced and said ""none of them"" without looking down at the counter. It wouldn't and didn't bother me if I had brought in items that they did not feel were right for resale (which I even told her), but the attitude was so offensive, had she actually been interested in any of the flawless Armani, Boss, D&G plus items I had, I think I would have changed my mind and not sold to that store because of the way they treat people. To be fair, some employees were very very friendly and helpful when I had gone in a few days earlier to ask what type of products, labels etc... they might be interested in. But I suspect the blonde woman with the 'snooty' attitude is not just an employee, but a higher level worker/owner with emotional problems, which affect the business ... based on other strangers reviews I have seen referring to the attitude of employees at Crossroads in West Hollywood. Cons: The Attitude is overtly unpleasant more

Great Weinhouse Clones 3/15/2008

If you're selling couture don't waste your time at Crossroads Trading. The buyers don't know their Gautier from a hole in the ground. Continue down the street to the more upscale resale store. more

Poor Men's Selection, Trade-In Prices are a Rip-Off 9/15/2007

The men's selection is slim and unimpressive. The ratio is about 90% womens clothes to 10% mens clothes. The selection that is there is definitely above average for thrift clothes. Be warned that Crossroads is not a bargain in terms of mens clothing. They do carry a variety of premium brands but the prices are still high given their age. Pros: Premium Brand Names Cons: Small mens selection, poor trade-in value more

Good Clothes, Good Quality - May find good designers! 6/28/2006

I remember the first Crossroads Trading company which opened up in San Jose. I instantly loved this store because it had nice, authentic, seventies clothes in pretty good quality. The store has definitely changed from what it was. Now, they look at your tags to see the date/season of the clothes, and they look for a designer label. I think they get a bit out of control sometimes with their pickiness, especially if you trade and see some of the shabby things they have on their racks. Nevertheless, I do enjoy Crossroads because you can get good designer jeans and basic classics, like Levis for sometimes more than 1/2 off the original price in a department store. I enjoy the Santa Monica store and Melrose is nice too, but too packed. The Ventura store is nice and small with really cute stuff. But, there will never be a one like the San Jose store... Pros: Good selection of clothes, Some good designers, some funky finds Cons: Small, Picky label monger sales assistants, hard to sift through the tight racks more

Crossroads Trading Inc. Just Okay :( 6/17/2006

I went to the store in downtown Santa Monica. I was disappointed in the selection I should say lack of selection. About 90% of their clothes are OverPriced big time. The only good thing about Crossroads is that they have a half off section which made the trip somewhat not completely wasted. I recommend going to DNA Clothing in Venice on Rose Avenue. Also the staff are less than friendly with no customer service at all. Pros: Free Public Parking Garage right across the street Cons: OverPriced, Street Parking Is Nightmare, Customer Service stinks more
