Awesome people for pets 5/24/2011

My animals have been going to Bear River their whole life!! The vets are never ever pushy on getting this or that and will explain everything in great detail. And the gals at the front are super awesome. Ive had pit bulls to greyhounds to cats. They are great with everything!! I'm on my third bully now and when my first bully Contessa got cancer in the late 90's it was Dr Morrow who suggested I get a second opinion on treatment just so I would feel comfortable. You can tell that they are all animal people that truly care about the well being of your pet and your feelings as well. more

The staff is caring, considerate and compassionate 5/24/2011

I've been going here for 8 years. The staff is caring, considerate and compassionate. My dogs love these people as much as I do. They take great care of my animals, and on the rare occasions when they were unable to perform the work, they referred me to a great specialist and were very up front about the potential fees. Happy to report that my dog's back surgery was a success! He's running and playing like a pup. more

Bonding Verts 5/24/2011

I particularly like the Veterinarian that gave Strudel her rabies shot. Instead of putting her on that cold steel table, She took the time to be friendly with Strudel. When she gave Strudel her shot, she hardly flinched. The Vet took the time to make the bond and I really appreciate that. more

Bear River is an honest and affordable place to take your pets. They are very professional and accommodating. My animals are never scared or worried when they come or leave. I recommend bringing your pets here any day. more

Business for Life 5/12/2011

I've never encountered a friendlier or more reasonable vet's office in my life. Everyone here knows my family and I as well as our cats. They've been nothing but accommodating, and give a complete list of options (as opposed to just the costlier ones) for a pet owner to consider. As far as I'm concerned, they have my business for life. more

Good Care 5/12/2011

I've been taking my pets here their whole lives. Bear River is the best! The place is huge, the staff is friendly, and the exam rooms are unusually cozy. Our pets are apart of our family and they should be treated like they are. They take good care of our pets and that's why we keep coming back. more

Everyone at Critter Creek was very nice and kind to both myself and my dog Breena. The visit was a little pricey but it was way cheaper than every other place I had called. Thanks for the great service. more

Incredible 5/4/2011

The staff here is very talented and incredible. They treat my pets with incredible love and attention (acts like their his very own buddies). They are not only kind, but extremely knowledgeable. They are willing to take the extra effort and time to ensure proper diagnosis and reviews all of the potential treatments. They understand how important the smaller members of your family are. Bear River came highly recommended by several friends of mine and I'll never go anywhere else. more

Wonderful! 5/3/2011

When I brought my dog in four months ago, his arthritis was so bad, he couldn't walk. Now, with the staff at Critter Creek's help, he is medicated and acting like a puppy again. I'm looking forward to many more years with my best friend now. Thank you Critter Creek! more

Always Recommend 4/27/2011

I have been more than satisfied with every visit to Critter Creek. I have recommended this place to friends and will continue to recommend it more. Thank you for always being so helpful. One big plus for Critter Creek is that I don't feel pushed or pressured into unnecessary services. Some people I know, hate going to their vet because they are always "pushing" their latest gimmick. Thank you for making my visits so pleasurable! more

The best around, but not perfect 9/15/2010

We've been taking our dogs here for a year and a half. We've had some terrible experiences with the other local vets (particularly with Marysville Veterinary Hospital) - but for the most part, Bear River has been great. Dr. Morrow is a really nice guy who knows his stuff and seems to sincerely care about animals. I don't like taking our dogs if he's not there. Dr. Johnson on the other hand, seems to be less friendly and less tactful when dealing with customers. Anyone who has had negative feedback on the clinic probably was because of her. The big down fall with their clinic is they don't do big surgery there, they'll send your dog to Lincoln which can add to the time your pet is waiting to be seen. Also the other staff can be annoying if you don't plan on getting your dogs fixed because they will ask you EVERY time when you're going to do it even if you have clearly stated before you were not going to. more

THE BEST! 7/11/2010

First off, and I am DEAD SERIOUS, I am the pickest of furkid parents in the world. I am a nurse, retired, was one of the first national poodle rescues and I know what I'm talking about. Every vet I've tried in the Yuba Sutter area came up lacking. One even killed a poodle of mine (another story).\r \r When I found that AKC recommended Bear River Clinic and even offered a free exam for my new poodle pup, I was skeptic at best.\r \r When we went in for our appointment, we were greeted by many dogs of all kinds. Most rescues whose lives were saved by this clinic. All well behaved and wanted to play with my new pup. Of course, being the over worried mom, I didn't let her down on the floor - you never know when the floor was last cleaned or better yet, disinfected. Parvo, distemper and such easy to pick up at such a place. I don't let pups down on the ground in my own yard until they have had their series of DHLPP vaccinations for protection! I told you I was picky!\r \r I was ready for more

Loomis Basin vet is better 3/9/2010

I brought my dog here in July of '09 because he was limping. The vet told me with the WORST bedside manor that he had bone cancer and amputation or chemotherapy was basically my only option. After requesting I do a second set of x-rays on his lungs, he then told me when he didn't see anything that it really didn't matter because the cancer was there whether he could see it or not. WHY then I had to pay for the second set of x-rays is beyond me. I told the doc I was unemployed and couldn't afford amputation or the cost of chemo, he said the dog then would have months to weeks to live. I ended up paying almost $800 for a diagnosis and no treatment. 8 months later my dog still has his leg and does limp once in a while, takes 20 mg of prednisone every 5 days, but otherwise seems to be fine. The fact that this man talked blank faced over my crying without a word of sympathy ensures that I would NEVER go back to this vet again! \r I had a bad experience with my sisters cat here also. more

#1 in dog care and customer service 5/15/2009

We took our two dogs there when we couldnt get the vet on base. Was a little worried but that all changed as soon as we got there. The ladies up front were great and always had a great attitude. The doc came in and was very efficent with the dogs. Time came for the bill and i cringed a little, but the price was very affordable for the care given. They have won our business and our pets loyalty. more

Highly Recommend! 9/10/2007

We just became proud parents to a pair of puppies. They were flea infested when we got them. We called Bear River Vet Clinic on a Friday afternoon and they had us come right in to get a CapStar treatment to kill the fleas. We were promptly given a check up appointment the following Monday. It is a great little clinic ~ well maintained with very friendly and caring staff. Close to Beale AFB. Offer 24 hour emergency service. more

The best! 11/20/2005

They are the most caring vet I have ever taken my dog too! They got him in right away when he got an ear infection. They showed me exactly how to give him his meds and even did a courtesy call to check on him. They also do boarding too. I would recommend this place to anyone! They are pretty reasonably priced and were very close to the base where we lived. They also sent us gifts for reffering our friends to them. more
