Nicole Kidman recommended the salmon to me 11/20/2007

I live in one of the new apartments around Fred Segal (Santa Monica) and decided to look around and see what was so special about this store. The clothes were mostly over priced so I decided to sit down at the restaurant inside and have a drink. That's when I noticed the couple I was sitting next to was Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. I couldn't help staring and I think she noticed because she recommended the grilled salmon salad to me. I was so embarrassed but she was real cool about it! Love ya Nicole! Ditch that drunk Keith! BTW, isn't Keith supposed to be in rehab? He was guzzling wine when I saw them... looser! Anyways the salmon was awesome! I eat at Crescendo all the time now. It's like a neighborhood diner with great everyday food that?s inexpensive, healthy, and delicious. Sometime I even order in. Just don?t go at noon cuz it gets really crowded and the service starts to lag. Pros: Celeb Watching, Inexpensive, Delicious Cons: Slow and Crowded at Noon more

awesome food 8/7/2007

i always end up at fred segal because of their free parking, and i always make an effort to dine at this place because the food is incredible and inexpensive. everyone i take here is always surprised that (a) it exists, (b) the prices are pretty cheap and (c) the food is that good. their pizzas are like the ones i've had in new york, and i love their bbq chicken salad. also, don't forget their tiramisu!! Pros: Free parking, awesome food, great prices, good for groups Cons: not open late more

Editorial
  • In Short
Leave it to Fred Segal's wise arbiters of hip to install a chic patio restaurant, where fashionistas can grab a quick lunch without leaving the premises. The Italian menu is full of thin-crust pizzas, panini and traditional pastas, but most of the casual eatery's carb-phobic crowd nibble on salads and sip iced teas. The majority of menu selections are inexpensive, so diners can save their pennies for another pair of $200 blue jeans.
