Rude French service to go along with the French food 10/27/2008

The food was decent, but the service was awful. I had planned a special lunch there for 9 of us. They were short staffed, rude when ordering, and unapologetic. I had called ahead of time twice the before to make sure they knew that the correct number of guests was 9 and that it was a special occasion. When I got there, they had 4 extra seats. When I asked them to remove the extra two tables, I was rudely told, ""You should have let us know before."" I told them I did call and that it was too bad they didn't get the message. I know this is a French restaurant, but do they have to offer bad French rude service. more

Great authentic crepes 6/5/2008

With fantastic authentic lunch and dinner crepes and actual French waitresses mumbling French while running around, this is a great creperie experience. The place is a little small and the wait can be long, but if you are a party of two, you can be seated more quickly. Good selection of tea and dessert crepes--you must try the Zidane, named for the head-butting French soccer player because it hits hard!!! I Love Paris...without the plane fare! 5/17/2008

I've eaten at both locations (Hermosa & Hollywood Riviera) and the food is great and I have great service -- even when it's busy. The ambiance is like being in a cafe in Paris or another upscale ville in France, I love hearing all the francais being spoken and even catch a phrase or two. The coffee is great and the crepes are OMG yummy! Pros: yum, yum, and triple yum! more

If you want something warm and delicious to eat this is the place to go. I've been to Creme de la Crepe at least a dozen times in the past few years and the quality of their food has always been excellent. They do their best to make your crepe as soon as you order it . Great place for breakfast /brunch! 1/29/2008

A friend recommended I try Creme de la Crepe and I was happy I did. Not only are the crepes delicious but their quiche is both generous in portion and in flavor. Crepes are flavorful without being too sweet and I found the service to be friendly and relaxed despite the crowd. more

Terrible service - Don't count on a reservation 6/21/2007

I attended a birthday brunch at Creme de le Crepe last weekend and had one of the worst experiences with the wait staff than I've had anywhere in years. We had a reservation but due to the hostess' inability to adhere to any sort of reservations or seating policy, we were kept waiting on the sidewalk for an hour. When we were finally seated, we waited for 10 minutes before resorting to asking the waitress to take our orders. She then unnerved us by waiting for each person at the table to shout out their request in any order, instead of making her rounds to each person. It was very maddening. The last straw was when our drinks failed to be replenished. While the food was excellent, I will not be patronizing this establishment again. Pros: Great food Cons: Terrible service more

Best little place on Pier Ave. 3/31/2007

Went for the 1st time and just loved it! Food Wonderful, Service Wonderful, Atmosphere Wonderful. Raclette crepes to die for, Escargot oh so good and dessert menu you can't say no to!!! the best crepe skin 3/19/2007

My boyfriend and I dined here on Valentine's Day. It was only a Pri fixed Menu on that day. I had the mushroom soup which was delicious, but it had some sand probably from the uncleaned mushroom. The french onion soup was below average we had better ones. The escargot was good. The best is their crepe skin. I got the pear with chestnut cream dessert crepe. It came with whipped cream and french vanilla ice cream. This is the only french restaurant that I know of that serves chestnut cream in crepes usually other restaurants serve nutella. The cheatnut cream was a little too sweet, but I still liked it. I am planning to come back to try their Beef Bourguignon crepe and the Pork Tenderloin. more

Yummy!! 11/22/2006

This is a great place to get authentic crepes on a lazy Saturday or Sunday morning. It's a cute, small little place with a very comfortable feel. The service is great and attentive. The veggie crepes are nice for breakfast but I can't help but order one of the dessert crepes as well. The Nutella ones are to die for! Please do not leave w/out having one!! I am not a big crepe person but I got curious of why so many of friends love it so much. Therefore, I did some research and found Creme de la Crepe on Citysearch. I have been there 5 times so far (I've just moved here recenty from MO and only have been here 6 weeks) and have been satisfied everytime. I love their deserts. YUMMY!!!! And service is great. Hotest Place on Pier Ave! 7/24/2006

Creme de la Crepe has become the hotest little cafe on Pier Avenue. Always busy on the weekends - breakfast, lunch or dinner - always a crowd, but they are very accomodating. They've now set up tables on the sidewalk, so you almost feel like it's a french sidewalk cafe, here in Hermosa! The buckwheat crepes are fabulous for breakfast and the pannini is amazing for lunch! Yummo!!!! Be prepared to wait for a table, because this place is popular! Pros: Crepes, Panini, Service Cons: Popular place - may need to wait for a table more

The service makes you feel in a small cafe in Paris (friendly and family atmosphere), authentics crepes, perfect tomato-basil soup, wonderful steaks, real espresso .... and frenchy inside decoration. Owner is french, waiters are french, head chef is french.... free escargots wednesday and thrusday !!!!! more

We love this place. Like a lot of French places, they only have 2 servers working when they need 4. So the service is really slow. The wait staff is running around like crazy but you might have to ask for something like more coffee a few times. But the food makes it all worth it. And the crepes are pretty amazing. more

Sweet and savory crepes for breakfast, lunch or dinner. So yummy! And since Creme de la Crepe does not have a wine or beer license, you are welcome to bring in your own alcohol. Makes for a great mimosa brunch--they'll even supply the orange juice. Although the restaurant is small (probably holding less than 40 people total), they are very accomodating for groups and birthday parties. more
