cowboys ac scam 7/4/2011

Cowboys is the cheapest service charge at 20 bux but that is the trick to get out there and convince you to replace something that does not need replacement and then over charge for it. Tech came out and quoted 4800 to replace coil and 725 to replace evaporator valve. Rate every other ac service out there would charge for this is 1200-1500 and evaporator valve is 125 dollars. This company allows their ""service techs"" to charge whatever they choose to charge. This is salesmen manipulating the customers for pure profit. This is not an honest business practice in my opinion. Avoid them at all cost!!!!! more

Dishonest Pricing 7/2/2011

Cowboys tech that visited me decided to quadruple the normal pricing just for me. Was quoted 4800 for an ac coil replacement and 725 for an expansion valve. Normal pricing from any honest person would be 1200-1500 and 125 for the valve. Cowboys offers 20 service fee so they get their SALES (ac guy) out to your door. They do not have flat prices set by the company, but in this case allowed the AC sales/tech to make up whatever amount he wanted to charge. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST! more

Be Very Careful 7/1/2011

Cowboys AC has men walking in our neighborhood putting flyers on the doors of the homes. They are walking in between the bushes and the houses looking in the windows. When I called Cowboys to let them know about this scary behavior they laughed and told me to go outside and talk to them. I told them I would not and that I would be calling the police instead. They laughed again and told me to go ahead and hung up. Be very wary people-I certainly do not feel safe having these people outside my home much less inside reapairing anything more

Be careful 6/29/2011

Technician checked out my system. Said the compressor was bad as was the evaporator coil. Suggested buying a new system and gave me a bid. I called another repairman for a second opinion. The second person replaced a capacitor and the system was running within minutes. Looks like fraud. more
