Went with friends on a recent trip to New Bern. I thought it was going to be a "kids" place. Turned out to be a great meal and great ice cream. Good place for kids in the back - but, there was nice seating for the adults in the front. more

Our hotel recommended we try this place for some great ice cream. We actually ended up having lunch here also and what a great recommendation! Food was great and ice cream was fantastic! more

Not so moo-velous today 11/29/2009

It's a shame that such an adorable place has such a grumpy guy behind the counter. Maybe my friend and I caught him at a bad moment, but it's still no excuse for being rude to paying customers. I know I will not be back for quite some time. My dollars will go else where. more

Best Icecream around 1/30/2007

Cow Cafe has moved to a new and bigger location on Middle Street. They have the best ice cream in town - our favorite is the key lime pie. They have a barnyard back room for kids to play in. Cows of all shapes and sizes to look at and buy. There food is wonderful too - so far my favorite is the cow chow sandwich - and my husband loves the oinking cow (cuban pulled pork). We stop by everytime we are in New Bern or on the way to the coast. Definitely worth the trip! more

Nice little place 9/9/2005

If you’re in New Bern and want to stop for some ice cream, maybe a hot dog, or such, this is a good place if you’ve got kids. The ice cream was ok, the atmosphere fun for kids. They sell lots of toys and merchandise and the kids will enjoy the paintings of cows around the walls. It is a pricey way to eat a hot dog, but not bad eating. Fun experience for kids. more

great and friendly 6/16/2005

i love taken my daughter there. There is so much she can do there and not get in trouble. She also loves the train that goes around the room and the singing cows. They also have wonderful homemade ice cream, all kids of foot long hot dogs, and pop corn. They have a little selection of food but it is the best selection of food. more
