Best Cheese Cake 4/28/2011

A Wedding Cake... 10/26/2009

My wife got our wedding Cake from Cousin John's. Lets just say, it was absolutely wonderful. On such an important day, everything needs to be top-notch, the band, the gown and of course the cake. Best Wedding Cake in NYC! 10/26/2009

I had my wedding this past weekend as was recommended by a friend and it turned out awesome! I gave them photos two weeks ago and it turned out better than I could have expected. My wife loved it and it was the centerpiece at the reception! Thanks again! Pros: Best Wedding Cakes! Cons: None Found! more

Not good! 10/8/2008

I have read these reviews, clearly these are friends of the owner. I have only had the red velvet cupcake and it is horrible. I am a baker, and I test bakeries all over the world. I will try another item just to verify what I tasted. The red velvet cupcakes are awful. They are bitter, you can not taste the sugar and/or coco that sould be in them. The cream cheese icing should have butter and sugar. This seemed like simply some cream cheese smeared on top. NOT GOOD. Again, I will test them out again, but thus far, they have a way to go. more

I am a longtime fan. Out of all the many, many times I've been here the food is wonderful. First of all, Cousin John?s small size & long line are part of the appeal. It's an old-fashioned bakery with none of the presumptuousness to be found. The Red Velvet cupcake is delicious. The strawberry shortcake is perfect. Neighborhood Treasure 4/26/2008

In Park Slope yuppiedom where brunch increasing feels Manhattan, Cousin John's (or CJ's) is a no frills treasure. The fresh bake croissants are phenomenal. Try the whole wheat. The french toast and the pancakes are delectable. The egg dishes and omelettes are awesome. On the weekends, they get you started with a homemade chocolate bread served with a cranberry spread. The staff is friendly and prompt. If you sit upstairs you have the joy of watching real baking pros in action. Its also very cheap. Two people can get out of there for $20-$25 tip included and eat like royalty. more

EVER SINCE THEN, I'VE BEEN LOYAL TO THIS BAKERY AND ALWAYS RECOMMEND IT TO FRIENDS. TRY THEIR STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE WITH FRESH BUTTER CREAM FROSTING AND FRESH FRUIT TOPPING. They have the best cakes and cookies. One of the few places to get a good cup of coffe at a decent price, not likeI the over price chains all over the city. also got my wedding cake from them. Great price, not like those over price bakeries. Why should wedding cake cost so much. Cousin Johns Bakery and Cafe has the best prices. They coustom make your cake without over chargeing. Great Brunch! Small place but is worth it. One of the few places where the kitchen is open and you can see the bakers making, all the goodies. They have a wide array of pies during the holiday season. Also one of the few places where you can get flourless cakes and sugarless cakes. Everything thing there is sinfully good. Cousin Cuisine 5/12/2002

Nice breakfasts, muffis, cakes to order and pignoli nut pastries. Gets a trifle crowded so think about takeout rather than sitting at the claustrophobic tables to enjoy your cuppa. more
