Excellent food and atmosphere 1/6/2007

Country Gourmet is what I used to wish the Good Earth was (but it never was). Simple, good, not too greasy food in a really nice atmosphere. It's kind of strange that you order before you sit down, but the restaurant acknowledges that, and even suggests (on a little card) that if we tip, we don't tip as we would for a full service restaurant. It suggests 5 to 7%. In any case, I could get used to a little quirkiness, I think, because the food is so good, and the ambience is so nice and relaxing. Blatant fake reviews 8/16/2006

Come on. If you're going to work for a restaurant and post fake reviews, at least pretend to be subtle about it. Three glowing reviews, all on the same date, and the only other reviews by these posters (also on the same date) dis a competitor. Please. Pros: So cutthroat that they'll post fake positive reviews on their place and bad reviews on competitors. Cons: So dumb that they make it obvious. more

Country gourmet serves breakfast as well as lunch, but the breakfast is great. The smoothies are wonderful and a good deal, too. The bill's breakfast is the best. more

Easy for groups 3/6/2006

I've been here many times with my mom's group. It's great for such an event because you don't need to know exactly how many people are coming and you can even have people show up late without holding up the group. The food is a kind of expensive and is just okay. I've been here for breakfast once and the breakfast food was decent. more

Good place to go for a casual breakfast. The homemade biscuits are great and so is the spinach benedict. They have a number of healthy choices, whole wheat, free-range, etc. PROS: CONS: you have to get your own coffee more

a bit expensive 3/5/2006

The Country Gourmet is a casual restaurant with pretty good food. A large part of the menu varies from day to day. You stand in line to order, but the food is brought to your table for you when it is ready. The chicken salad is yummy but not hearty for the price, and in general the prices are somewhat high. Where everyone knows your name... 1/5/2003

Country Gourmet is not only a restaurant with a great staff, but when you are greeted with smiling faces, and people who remember your name, you also receive great food. I have frequented this restaurant for almost 10 years now, and will not stop until the doors are closed. If you haven't tried one of the omlets or HUGE salads, orange french toast, or any of the specials, you are missing out on great food from a great place. more

my local favorite 8/9/2002

I eat here for lunch or brunch, often with friends. The food is great--my favorites are the smoked chicken salad, the cold pastrami sandwich/salad combo, and all the desserts. Country Gourmet is a modified self-service restaurant. Guests order at the registers upon entry and their food is brought out by the servers. In addition to our standard menus we have our daily specials listed on the blackboards near the registers. We cook with fresh product delivered daily. The entree specials range from wild salmon to Niman Ranch (free-range/no antibiotics or hormones) steak and meats. Choose from a variety of fine wines and beers to accompany your entree.
