I took this dress here to get alterations done. The woman who did the alterations did a very nice job. She did exactly what I asked her to do and she did a very nice job sewing it. When I picked it up from it being altered there were black stains ALL over the dress as well as what looked like oil stains on it. (It was chiffon see through fabric). It was a purple color and looked like she had taken a black permanent marker and made dots all over it.
After seeing this I talked to the woman at the front and told her that there were stains all over it that were not there when I brought it in. Instead of saying oh I have no idea I can't prove it neither can you let me try and clean it for you (because the customer should always win in this situation) she instead proceeded to almost yell at me telling me that I am lying to her. And this was in front of another customer waiting. I kept telling her no these were not here when I brought it in and something needs to be done about it. She then got all mad about it was super rude the rest of the time to me. This was a bridesmaid dress for a wedding so it was important and the wedding in soon. Her negative attitude and her accusing me of lying was quite uncalled for. She should have just stopped said let me try and clean it for you. I told her that there was a stain on one side of it that I knew about, but nothing else. She also said "well you brought it in a plastic bag not hanging up so you got it dirty" which I replied with "yes a clean plastic bag so therefore I didn't get this dress dirty".
A few days later I went back to get the dress and it had come clean. I am not sure how they got them out, but they were gone.
I did ask to speak to the owner to complain about how rude this woman was to me. She was standing there as I told him and they both apologized to me. I am glad they did, but I will not be doing business with them again. I don't want to be accused of lying when I was not lying and plus that is is not a way to do business with your customer.
And on top of all of this...the alterations seemed a bit pricey if you ask me. Had I not been on a total time crunch...I would have shopped around. It was $135 to sew up a hem and then take in the strapless dress on the sides. I know it was a bit harder than normal, but I asked how much it would be just for the sides and that was $75 meaning the hem was $60. I could have done that myself!
