I can't say enough good things about this place. From the way the deal with you on the phone, their friendliness and clean shop appearance, their hospitality...the whole thing! It's like coming home. They did a tremendous and thorough job checking out my car and did everything possible to make sure it WASN'T a transmission problem before they recommended taking the transmission out. It seemed like they actually FELT BAD that the transmission was in fact the problem and that it wasn't something minor they could help me with!! They rebuilt it on time, never asked for a penny more than was quoted once they took the transmission apart, and they also made some service recommendations down the line. It's so refreshing to find a stress-free and reliable car repair shop. Someone who communicates with you and is open and honest with answers about your car. I definitely am telling everyone I know to take there car here, if just for a second opinion. They are also not afraid to refer you to another auto specialist if they feel they can't provide you with the best service (like engine performance issues). Integrity, honesty, freindliness, hospitality, and peace of mind...it's what all shops SHOULD be! Pros: Clean shop, honest people, excellent mechanics, free car inspection...everything you want in a repair shop. Cons: I wish they did everything automotive and not just transmissions and maintenance. more

Everyone there was really helpful. They gave me a ride after I dropped off my car, answered every question honestly and gave me a better FREE diagnostic than the one I paid $180 for at the dealer! They communicated me every step of the way, picked me up and dropped me off and I got a great value that was much much less than the dealer and competitive price to other shops that would have given me an inferior transmission. They know what they are doing and when they say it might not be the transmissoni, they are wayyyy right! I met many happy customers going in and out of their office when I was there. They are all helpfula and a real local business with the advantage of a nationwide warranty. Go to Cottman firt, or go there second...just get their feedback.
