Cottman Transmission Center

Around a month ago, my car with a manual transmission refused to shift into reverse. I brought it in to Cottman, and within an hour they diagnosed it as a shift cable issue. Jody ordered the cables and they were able to replace them within a couple of hours on my next day off. Everyone was extremely professional and courteous, and the work was completed faster than I expected. I can now reverse without a problem and I couldn't be happier with the service provided at Cottman. more

I had what I thought was a major repair issue with my transmission! The guys evaluated my problem and came back with solution that was very well explained. After the repair my transmission is good as new at a very low cost. Despite what I heard about tranmission repair shops they worked with me and performed only what was needed. I will definatly give them my business on my next repair or maintenance issue and will refer my friends! more

Most of the time there have been stories told about how mechanics and different services are different for women than it is for men. I am in Greensboro from Tennessee and I did not know anyone. My transmission went out on my vehicle so I took it to Cottman's and received a warm welcome and great service from Mgr. Jody. He did not treat me as if I were an out of towner that he could make a quick buck off but as if I was just as important to him as anyone else. He even fixed another problem after the warranty had expired. I will recommend him to anyone, as a matter of fact I did just that to several of my co-workers. I went in to go my transmission checked for my 05 Nissan Altima and the guys took very good care of me. They dropped me off to work, and took the car back to check it out. What I thought was transmission probem end u noy being one. The tech that checked the car out found out I had a broken motor mount. Gave me a recommendation on who could fix and my problem was solved. I will return if I every have a transmisson problem. more

I had a great experience with Cottman Transmission. I never felt like I was getting ripped off or swindled. It did cost me a lot of money to repair my transmission but it was well worth the cost. Customer service was awesome and personable. Jody and his staff are great at what they do. I would recommend these guys to anyone! The transmission fell out of my truck when I was driving down the road and, when I asked the tow-truck driver where I should take it, he recommended Cottman Transmission Greensboro. It turned out that the entire transmission needed to be rebuilt. When you are incurring very expensive car repair work, it is scary and hard to know who to trust. The mechanics at Cottman Greensboro made me feel comfortable right away. They were very gentle, counseling me and helping me get an inexpensive rental car that they brought to me. I felt that they really cared. They did a fabulous job on the transmission. The truck drove better than it had before the transmission problem. I was very pleased with Cottman, so I went back a second time when my family had a problem with our 4-wheel drive. A piece of metal was making a strange noise, and I knew I could trust what the mechanics at Cottman told me about what the problem was. They work with such integrity, plus they are personable, approachable, and easy to be around. It is uncommon to find mechanics that are so warm and embracing. I wish they did general mechanic work as well! Anybody within a reasonable driving distance of Cottman Transmission Greensboro should make the journey there for transmission work. They are the best: You can rely on them, they are timely, and their dedication is outstanding. They let you know upfront how much something will cost and they do not go over that price or charge you extra, hidden fees. It is definitely worth the drive. more

I started using Cottman Transmission Greensboro because I knew the manager from his last position with another auto repair shop. He has rebuilt 3 transmissions for me now, 2 of them having been previously worked on by someone else who messed them up. He is very knowledgeable, communicates well, does an awesome job, and stands behind his work. I would recommend Cottman Transmission because they are professional and trustworthy. These guys too the time to explain everything in terms i could understand the manager Jody even pulled out a book and showed me what he thought may be causing my problem. i have had Transmission repair in one other car . and this was by far much easier to deal with ..these fellas get an AAAAAAAA+ from me . more
