Had been looking for a car for my son and found the one that he wanted a GTI 337 only 1500 made in 02 in the usa. The guys at Cottage Lake Motors are great to work with, easy, no pressure, they want you to make the right purchase. I was able to take the car to have it inspected by my mechanic and they agreed to rectify any issues that I had. In any car deal you need to do your research and ask the questions know what you are buying. All and all I would recommend Peter and his crew. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of a used car lot is ""pressure"". Not so at Cottage Lake Motors! I had driven by and saw some cars worth looking at and I was allowed to do just that, without having a sales rep focused on the dollar sign above my head following me around. I was greeted friendly and felt respected with the offer to look around and if I had questions or wanted to test drive a car, ""let us know"". Seriously? My experience has always been that used cars sales personnel are like flies! I ended up test driving several cars that I liked and bought the one I loved! They had no problem with me taking the car to my own mechanic for a thorough look over prior to my purchasing and it passed with 2 thumbs up! Cottage Lake Motors has an F rating from the Better Business Bureau and they deserve it, I only wish I had known before purchasing a lemon from them. The sales team and owner lied about the work done to the car and let me drive off the lot in a car that has been determined unsafe to drive. After speaking with the Better Business Bureau I learned that they have a track record of unwillingness to resolve claims and dishonest business practice. Steer clear!! If you are reading this, you probably are in a similar (if not the same) position I was a couple of weeks ago. I was looking to purchase a clean B5 S4 or a B6 A4 Ultrasport (those are both types of Audis for those who are unfamiliar with the terminology). I stumbled upon Cottage Lake Motors on craigslist and went to check out an Audi A4 Ultrasport they had. I'll cut straight to the chase -- these guys sell nice used cars at good prices. They don't haggle you, are very straight-forward, and know what they are talking about when it comes to german cars (and all cars I assume). I got the car checked by University Audi before I handed over the check, and as I expected everything was great. Not really sure what all the negative reviews are about... I honestly can't think of a single negative thing to say about these guys. This is the 8th vehicle I have purchased (I'm 23), and this was hands down the best buying experience I have had. These guys showed me a tremendous amount of respect and trust throughout the buying process considering my age, and I will be recommending Cottage Lake Motors to ALL of my buddies, family members, and anyone else who asks where to go for a clean used car and great no-nonsense service! I visited Cottage Lake Motors in December to look at a very rare car which matched my criteria. I actually wasn't going to purchase anything as I have too many cars already, but the car was too rare to pass up. Peter and Paul were both very professional. They were honest about where the car came from, what had been repaired, and the service history. This place was perfect for me. No butt kissing, hand holding, or pressure to buy. Just good condition used cars, exceptional prices, and low key employees. I was looking for a low mileage Ford Fusion SEL V6, in perfect condition, and I found it here for $3,000 less than anyone else would sell it. I investigated the car's vin on Ford's ""Oasis"" computer system and it confirmed everything Cottage Lake Motors had said about the car. My son purchased a 2003 Volkswagen GTI 25th Anniversary Edition. At the time of purchase the check engine light was on and I was assured they would take care of the issue. The car had a combination of issues that were addressed with a few visits, they were very easy to work with and backed what they had promised. They addressed all of our concerns with the car and it runs great and I am very happy with their service and support. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a nice used car. Cottage lake motors may have good prices, but once you have sighed on the dotted line, these men will not go above and beyond for you. We have had a few follow-up issues, nothing major, but these men did not cooperate or follow-up with us. I would gladly pay more money for a car with better service.
