Though the help is generally pleasant and helpful, they are pulled away from assisting customers by overbearing owner who swears in Yiddish at the help. Not my idea of a good time...

If you are a used bookstore "junkie" (like me), you will appreciate the aisles of random books piled about as if they are worthless. Because the truth is, this bookstore has some true gems. I was able to purchase an antique copy of "The Makers Of Venice" (which I've seen auctioned online), a Salvador Dali illustrated version of "The Autobiography of Benvenuto Cellini," and a handful of other books ... \r \r The two employees who were there on my last visit crawled through STACKS of books to accommodate my request for "Russian Art" books. LOVE THESE GUYS! I'll continue shopping there forever! more

Owner Disrespects Clientele 1/22/2007

Though the help is generally pleasant and helpful, they are pulled away from assisting customers by overbearing owner who swears in Yiddish at the help. Not my idea of a good time - maybe a good read if it's between covers and you're into Oliver Twist. Neither an Ebenezeer nor a Fagan be, for all time is unlimited, except our own and I think that time might be better spent where the help is allowed to help the customers, especially in a jumbly-down, upside up world like Cosmo's. more

film and media store 4/15/2005

this is the cozier Westside equivalent to Acres of Books. A dealer loaded with thousand of books stacked high on giant bookcases. They have a variety of subjects but they specialize on film and media. more
