When I walked into the Cornish Pasty Co., I felt as if I was walking into a pub from another time. The atmosphere was very laid back and had an almost underground feeling to it. I went to the restaurant with a few friends and expected great food, great service, and atmosphere due to their previous experiences. But I was sorely disappointed with my taste of the Cornish Pasty Co.
The restaurant had long wooden pews instead of tables and chairs. The pews were far from the table and even farther from comfortable. I could hardly reach the table. The only positive thing about the set up was that my friends had issues reaching the table as well.
The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Pasty, which was served with a spicy dressing on the side. When the food arrived, after waiting 15 minutes, it was lukewarm and not desirable to eat. My glass of soda was refilled only once, despite how quickly I was drinking it down.
Our waiter was horrible! Instead of being interested in our experience, he was only interested in listening to his iPod and enjoying a meal of his own. He was even doing the dishes by our food. It was ridiculous.
The prices were acceptable, about $8.50 for a pasty. In my opinion, however, I overpaid. I went into the restaurant expecting to walk out fulfilled and wanting to return, but I honestly doubt that I will. I feel as if I wasted my money and my time.
