Amazing Place! 12/23/2009

I've been going to Cornerstone for a while now. It is amazing to see an amazing church that fully operates in the gifts of the Spirit with discipline! It is easy to see the Lord is blessing this church. Pastor Sarah and the music ministry are phenomenal as they faithfully lead the congregation into the presence of God, and is always open to the leading of the Spirit as He prompts vocal gifts to be utilized. Pastor Maury is an amazing man of God. What a testimony of the radical change that takes place when one places their trust in God! His sermons are always deeply rooted in the Word and are easily applicable to our lives. The Holy Spirit is present at Cornerstone! I recommend it to everyone! Come and see what the Lord is doing! Pros: Great music, preaching, and spirit Cons: Easy to get lost in the crowd if you do not get involved more

Cornerstone Weird? 3/28/2009

The church is wonderful, I definitely felt at home going to Cornerstone while I was living in Nashville. To those who don't understand ""Speaking in Tongues"" or ""Falling down"" which is called being slain in the holy spirit, check it out in the Bible...it's not really Flaky, its just the experience of being surrounded by the Spirit of God through the Holy Spirit...I have yet to experience either of these moments in my life, but sometimes that is just how God speaks to different people....""in different ways"" I know God is using me in other ways then he uses other people...so I just live by faith and not by sight. The only thing I don't get is why the Pastor leaves me a voice mail ever Saturday afternoon...I don't even live in Nashville anymore, they need to start keeping track of who attends that way they know who to put on the calling list....they don't have a sign in to let anyone know you're there, so how will anyone know if your going through a hard time and missing? It's a very large church so if you don't write your name down, you're sort of just a number and until your name is missing, no one will know that YOU are missing....I didn't like that...nor do I like being called every week trying to get me to come, its 9.5 hours away from me!!! hahahaha Love the church though, would definitely go again if I moved back south! And to the lady who didn't like the church because you couldn't bring your child in with you, I am severely sorry, I understand why they wouldn't want the Baby in, but its also YOUR child, and your responsibility if he/she starts to cry a bit, you should have been allowed to take them in....I suggest giving it another try sometime if you get the chance! Pros: Large in Size, People are passionate Cons: They still call me and I havn't been there in over 5 months more

Greatest Church 3/22/2009

This is the friendliest church I've ever attended, and the most annointed services I've ever experienced. The uncompromising Word of God is preached from the pulpit, whether it's politically correct or not. This is truly a church full of people who love Jesus and show His love to one another. more

Best Church in town: 11/19/2008

I have been going to Cornerstone for four years and I love it. The pastors truley speak the bible. The people that are complaining about the church asking for money and speaking in tongues needs to read their bible. more

the church 9/30/2008

why people would want to complain about giving to god is beyond me the money that is taken up does not go to the pastor it goes to different things such as help paying off the church and helping the children that do not have homes!! why would you want to complain about something like that!! \r now i do not agree with the way things work as in how the church has so many clicks especially the youth services!! there are also people that are in the church who judge but your going to find that no matter where you go!! also those of you who think that speaking in tounges is stupid and its nothing but jiberish well first of all nice english and second its called speaking in tongues!! and you should try and learn about what you are commenting on!! also its a great place for the family!! there is a review on here about well i cant sit with my family well gorw up do you really think that a 9 year old wants to sit in a service for 2 hourss they would rather be doing something fun i mean come on Pros: the preaching and quality Cons: and the bad clicks more

Cornerstone. weird stuff 9/29/2008

Cornerstone church: THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY: The music is great, and I love listening to Maury Davis preach. They spend too much time asking for money and trying to make you feel guilty if you dont' give as much as they think you should. ""You are robbing God if you don't tithe 10%"". Also, the black suited ""ushers"" remind me of the Gestapo. Now for the Ugly: There seems to be a speaking in tongues tag team. One woman babbles and the other ""interprets"". Also, last Sunday, there was an alter call for anyone that wanted to try to speak in tongues. Weird. too weird for me and my family. Wont be back Pros: music, pastor, beautiful place Cons: asking for money too much, flaky with speaking in tongue alter calls, pastor touching peaple and they fall down, kinda flaky more

Excellent ministry for the entire family!! 8/30/2008

I am a 48 year old married woman. My husband & I attend Cornerstone weekly and have been for well over a year. My daughter is 27, married and mother of 4 children ages 13, 11, 5, & 2. Her entire family has been attending Cornerstone for a year and a half. We all really enjoy the services and the huge variety of classes offered. There truly is something for everyone. There are also some very unusual and fun services! We have a HUGE indoor fireworks show every year for the 4th of July. We have had guest speakers such as John Hagee, CeCe Winan, & Oliver North. We recently had a live presentation of the dead sea stripper (John the Baptist & Herod). I know the other family on here was confused about bringing the baby into the service....but this is done for everyone to enjoy a service of their own. The baby & child would have enjoyed a class on their level....the parents could have listened and enjoyed our service & the child would have learned so much in their service too....and all the people around them could have concentrated on the service instead of watching the baby & perhaps being disturbed when the parents had to go out for a fussy baby or a trip to the potty. I have been to smaller churches where kids were in the service (in fact I went 32 years to a church like that with my own kids) but I have to say that this is so good fro everyone. Maury Davis is unlike any minister I have ever heard. We are a full gospel, spirit filled church. His entire pastorial staff is wonderful & they truly are concerned with having every person ministered to. We love it there and hope others will give it a chance! We invite you to join us. Pros: Something for everybody, different from any place else, very loving & friendly people, 100% Bibically correct Cons: can be very crowded during special events (come early), not for the politically correct more

Strange.. 8/14/2008

We saw lots of ads on television regarding Cornerstone Church and thought it would be a great place to go as a family. We went in and proceeded to go to the sanctuary, my husband, 3 children and I, only to be stopped just as we were about to go in. We were told that infants were not allowed in the sanctuary and that I would have to take my baby to the nursery, and send my 9 year old to Sunday School, off some long corridor going in the opposite direction and up a flight of stairs. I replied that this was our first visit and we just all wanted to sit together as a family. I expressed my discomfort very plainly with splittling the family up. The lady would not hear of it and insisted that I take my baby to the nursery, and was never clear on why infants were not allowed in the sanctuary. She said I was welcome to go to the nursery with him and watch what was going on through the TV. This would have put my husband and 12 year old in the sanctuary, my 9 year old off somewhere else and the baby and I in the nursery. What kind of church visit would that have been? I believe a family should be allowed to sit together when they visit a church, not all whisked away in different directions if they do not want to be. Maybe they thought the baby would disrupt the service? If the baby had started fussing or crying, I would have taken him out into the hallway until he calmed down of course. Dont most mothers do that?\r Needless to say, we left, and have not been back and will never go back. We now enjoy a church where we can all sit together, OR let our children go to Sunday School if they so desire. As for our little one, he happily sits on our laps throughout the church service, WITH his Mommy and Daddy. Pros: Lots of activities for children, good preaching. Cons: Overwhelmingly huge, families arent allowed to sit together. more
