I have been using Joe to fix my vehicles since around 1999. I drive from Winter Park and have always been treated fair. If you want honesty, go see the corner mechanic.

An oil change and fuel filter ran $260 for my diesel truck. I have never paid more than $120 for the exact same service. I'm very disappointed and have an awful feeling that I waisted a lot of money with this guy. more

I've been using the folks at Corner 2/24/2012

I've been using the folks at Corner Mechanic for about ten years. We've had everything from an oil change to a complete engine rebuild done by Joe and the crew. Their service is always straightforward and honest. They have also stood behind their work when there appeared to be a problem. Joe and his wife own the shop and are always friendly and helpful. I don't try to nickel and dime them when they do repairs for me and their prices always seem to be very fair, especially when compared to dealer service charges. more

Joe at Corner Mechanic called me a 1/25/2012

Joe at Corner Mechanic called me a horrible customer. I have worked in customer service since I was old enough to work, and I have seen some horrible customers. I've been cussed out and stiffed and insulted. But no matter how horrible they were, I never insulted them back. And what did I do to deserve being told I am a horrible customer? I asked questions and brought my own parts. He told me that the carburetor now worked ""alright"" but he couldn't adjust it right, but he still expected $456 dollars for ""overhauling"" the carburetor. When I questioned having to pay for repairs that were incomplete he said he wouldn't work on my van anymore. He kept cutting me off when I said I didn't want to pay for the repairs if the van still wasn't fixed, and he threatened to scrap my van. I told him he was providing horrible customer service, and he responded that I was a horrible customer, and something along the lines of ""I don't need this."" I gave it a week before I posted any reviews so I could have a clear head when relating my story. I have put a lot into the van but now I have no more money, as I was forced to pay for the repairs, and so I will scrap the van myself. I was my own bad luck I got a lemon, but when the van was dropped off we asked if we could bring our own parts and we assured that was fine, and we also told them that if we had a budget and needed to know if total repairs would exceed a certain amount. Then I got yelled at for bringing m own parts and a van I could drive before I took it to them runs worse than it did before I took it in and won't start. The remains of the carb-rebuild kit he gave me with my invoice includes a bunch of unused parts that would be in the carb if they had actually rebuilt it comprehensively. If I had been horrible and cursed him, I could understand his reaction. But the bottom line is: He didn't fix my van, he charged me full price to not fix my van, he clearly didn't know what he was getting himself into if he didn't realize what needed to be done to the carb, and he insulted me when I was upset about the above information. I didn't curse or yell or anything, I just asked too many questions. Yup, ol' Joe may have worked on my van for four or so hours, but he didn't fix it. But it's fair that he gets paid for that work. You should know though, all he wants is his money, and he certainly isn't there to help you. more

Honest with Great Service 10/22/2009

automotive repair facility 8/10/2009

I have never been treated so well by a repair facilty as I was by the people of the Corner Mechanic. They explained all the necessary repairs I needed at that time, repairs that I will need in the future. They gave me a detailed estimate, and when the final talley was given, the cost was less than the estimate. They have my loyal support, and continued patronage. I would recommend them to anyone needing repairs. Pros: best repair shop ;in the state Cons: i have no negative remarks more

Good, Honest Mechanic 4/24/2009

I can not explain how pleasant my experience was. I needed my brakes replaced. They called me to ask me if I wanted to come over while they had my car in the air so that they could explain what was going on with it. When it came time to chose which brake pads to use they did not try to upsell me, in fact they told me to go with the cheaper pads since my car was so old. In the end, they ended up finding the ceramic pad for the same price as the metallic pads, which was a definite bonus. Finally, they stayed at the shop an hour and a half after closing to make sure that I got my car back that day. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great mechanic. Pros: Honest and great customer service more

Great Place to go 5/30/2006

These guys are straightforward. They lay it all out there as much as possible (as much as your expertise can withstand). I trust them with my repairs and recommend them. They do not do unneccesary work, and they communicate well. Pros: honest, great communication, friendly Cons: Small shop, not always same day more

Finally - an honest mechanic! 8/10/2005

A friend who used to live in Golden recommended these guys to me for some repairs. The place looks like the kind of place you probably wouldn't want to take your car for service, but do not let that fool you. These guys are good, and more importantly, they don't play the mechanic games I've encountered for years. To make a long story short, I drive from Boulder to Golden b/c they're 1) honest, 2) fair and 3) very qualified. Go see Dan at the front counter and tell him your auto woes, and you will not regret it. They have saved me beaucoup bucks on auto repair. I had a quote from one shop for $600 in repairs. The CM did it for $250 and it runs great. I can't say enough good things about them. Pros: HONESTY , professionalism, cheap Cons: dingy place more
