Good BBQ at a great price! 1/27/2006

We stopped at Corky's after running errands and to take a break from the impossible weekend traffic on Veteran's. We're glad we did--the food was delicious and the service was very friendly and attentive. We had the brisket and the pork, and thought both were very good! Pros: Inexpensive, Short waiting time Cons: High traffic area more

Better than the original 6/8/2002

I've eaten at the original Corky's in Memphis, and this version puts the original to shame - truly some of the best "Memphis" bbq I've ever had (& I've tried lots of Memphis bbq). The ribs are succulent, the sandwiches are mouth-watering, and the atmosphere is perfect. In addition to the delicious food, the service is excellent. I whole-heartedly recommend this restaurant. more

Th-that's good eatin', folks! 5/12/2002

A bit on the generic, off-putting chain restaurant side, decor-wise, but the food is well worth it. Ribs and platters are solid entrees, and the onion rings make a great appetizer. You'll definitely be looking for moist towelettes long before you've made even the most rudimentary headway on your meal. more

  • The Scene
Between the pulled pork shoulder, the beef brisket and the barbecue chicken, this local favorite won't leave anyone hungry (except for vegetarians). We suggest you take advantage of the sizeable booths, invite along some friends and pick from each other's plates.

    The Food
Corky's rhymes with the name of a certain cartoon pig whose succulent meat is the menu's foundation. The ribs linger in that spectacular culinary zone, a true feat of physics, where the strips sit on the bone until the slightest touch of one's fork--or fingers--separates them for easy chewing. After a full feast at Corky's you won't have room for sweets, so the restaurant goes out of its way to tempt you: The ice cream scoops are double-sized, the pecan pie is rich with Karo syrup, and the cobbler is thick with apple.
